if you right click the recording button, you can set it to automatically quantize your beat as well :)

Hi prof, can we do the same loop recording in piano roll as a pattern. (Drums) coz when i tried each instrument kept overwrite.( i first played kick and snare, but then when i played hihats it overwrite the kick and snare.)

How can I record the live loop? Because if I record the file to export like this, it is the loop already finished, and I want the track I have, be one in which the sounds are added as I play them, Does anyone know how to do it?

Is it normal that a device like this has no built in looping. It seems like a necessity on playing something good. So if I have no pc I will need a pedal or something?

Lenny MP i don't think he was trying to make a fire beat that's worth selling or anything i think he was showing how to set it up and just the potential in using this in fl studios. He probably could make an insane beat if he took his time

Hey great video. if im doing a live performance and i have the loop perfectly recorded how do i play specific patterns together. say like pads and bass keep playing but everything else stops. and then when i want everything to play together to build a song structure live. like playing scenes in ableton, but i dont own ableton...

Which version of FL Studio would you suggest? I'll be looking into getting at minimum the Producer edition, but what about the signature or Studio additions at $189, $289 and $816 respectively?

I started off with the Producers Edition, and that's the minimum I recommend, I really like what comes with it! I eventually upgraded to the signiture edition.

When I set Buffer size to 256smp the sound I make started to harsh and quality beacme terrible, I had to set it up for at least 2048smp to sound normal.

Thanks for the video. I have got the hang of this but the first note of the pattern doesn’t seem to record well, just like in yours where the first chord was missing. Is there a way to fix this? To get my first chord to record I have to purposely do it late and then would have to line it up later but that sucks haha surely there’s a better way

Yeah I have the same problem when I do it too, I am not sure of a direct way to remedy it other then to do a simple workaround like what you are explaining. I will do the same thing as well for mine.

i have a big problem with fpc i use fl20 and an akai mpk mini the problem is that when i try to record different takes to create my pattern and stuff,the midi informations that i recorded before get deleted basically every time i have to record all in one take or duplicate my fpc and record other instrument from there HELP ME PLEASE :'(

Please, help me somebody. I am so pissed right now, because it's been an hour since I try to manage this problem. When I do record looping, whenever the loop ends and starts to play from the beginning, I can NEVER hear the first note that I recorded. On the second time the loop is playing everything is okay, but this first time is a big problem for me, because if I want to loop recording with synths, it never can be heard as the loop repeats first time. Help me please, I tries everything

HOW DO I GET THE PADS TO DO DRUMS AND THE KEYS TO DO SOMETHING ELSE IN REAPER!? I've only been doing this for about 6 months now and I've been using a Korg Triton extreme. This is my first time with a midi controller with pads on it and every video I see the guys that are making loops have percussion on the pads and some other effect on the keys and I for the life of me can't figure out how to do that. I've been through the mpk mini editor and watched a bunch of Reaper Mania videos but I just can't figure this out. After I figure that out I can start learning looping

My end result was realizing that fruity loops is probably much better for this type of production. But I hope I'm wrong! I love reaper!

whenever i try to drag my buffer below 40ms , my sounds get distotred like hell , like it's breaking apart , very electronic, very unnatural.my underruns number goes all over the place, doesn't stop. the lower i go the less it sounds like the original sound. im using fl studio 10. any of this sounds familiar?

thanks for the attempt but it's not it. there's nothing in there that helps; and i've tweaked everything u mentioned in the video, except some things that dont even appear in fls10. i just need to remove the input delay from my midi controller , but every time I lower the buffer under 40 ms , my overruns start going up and it doesnt stop, and every sound turns into this loong sort of breaking apart crackling metalic , and the lower i go with the buffer the worse it sounds. nothing like the issue u had which was just some cracking over the regular sounds. i'm using an old asus ROG which is still pretty strong, got an i7 and 8 gigs of ram so idk

You might need to change your quantization settings. I think it's probably because of how midi notes snap to the piano roll grid; id probably make that "none" or "main." You can do this by selecting the little magnet icon on the top left of the piano roll.

Simple little things for you to do seems pretty tight to me

I'm using fruity loops 9 producer edition, I've set everything up using the same settings in your tutorial. But yet when I'm trying to record drums into piano roll it records it to the standard drum pattern grid and moves what I've recorded to the nearest slot available and it's really frustrating 😤
