Looking Forward: Atmospheric Drum n Bass Compilation (Vol 1)
Музыка
A compilation of modern deep drum & bass featured on the channel between 2021 - 2022. Showcasing the vast talent & styles producers have applied to their productions to shape the future sound.
From heavy vaporwave influences to classic rolling landscapes, drum & bass has always been a genre ripe for experimentation. This compilation explores those interpretations and serves as a snapshot of this period in time.
Thank you all for the support over the past year. So many good songs it was hard to fit everything on one - so, more to come :)

So awesome our generation is finally controlling the dial and bringing back the music we want to hear. Jungle and liquid DnB was not just a fad, it was a belief in a future that was both progressive and timeless. The intricate and abstract structure of the drums layered with the fluid ambient soundscapes and relentless rolling bass rhythms… It gave hope.

You really nailed it there man! Only thing I might clarify is describing the genre as "forward thinking" instead of "progressive"... In part, bc progressive is used so often as a description of music sonically or in terms of composition... but you were talking about mindset. Anyways... I've had too much coffee 😆
Atmospheric dnb reminds me of the sound of an oscillating fan in the summer, with someone playing drums downstairs. I love it.

I love these old Bryce-style artworks. I did so many of these back in the day on my Apple PowerPC.
Me and my buddies arrange raves at the sauna of my student campus during summers. Nothing beats the feeling of finally opening your first beer after a long day of working in the scorching summer heat, taking a small swim in the lake, and launching these chill atmospheric beats. No other music fits the setting so well. It's almost as if jungle and atmospheric DnB fully encapsulate the feeling of summer, in a way no other genre does.

stop using the term "jungle" to refer to this synthy ambient like dnb. jungle is reggae influenced dnb. none of this music even comes close to "jungle" outside of the use of the amen break. if you are in the uk and you go to an actual jungle event you will not hear this type of music. you would more likely hear reggae guitar jabs with Jamaican sounding mcs rapping fast over a amen break with a reggae/dub bassline. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gWuIzc6KhMjbg6g.html this is a good example of jungle.

@@goldbullet50 not here in the uk where these genres originated. a true jungle rave will be very Jamaican reggae influenced usually very MC centric and the music's vibe tends to be more aggressive more upbeat less ambient chillout in tone. most counties do not separate dnb genres well but here in the uk we do. in the 90s it was even more so the case. many clubs and raves in the uk will have a only liquid/chillout dnb nights and jungle nights. the two genres are separated a lot. both vibes are very different. both only over lap in the fact they both use an amen break and sometimes similar sounding ambient atmospheric snyths. it is true some jungle artists moved on to this later 90s more synthy, airy dnb sound but that does not change the fact both genres sound different and should not be put in the same sentence if you are not actually going to put any actual jungle songs in the mix, just saying.

@@accountreality1988 Mate, as someone else from the UK, stop being such an elitist, swear down. I am pretty sure most people nowadays do indeed recognise that Jungle/DnB originates from Jamaican reggae/dub sound. Most of what you wrote can easily be found on Wikipedia or some other source, & I'm sure most people local or international recognise that & often use the term "jungle" loosely to describe this sound. I am pretty sure most people who listen to this subgenre of ambient jungle/dnb often nowadays just see the "roots" thing as an afterthought.

its not really liquid. liquid sounds 10x more femenine, pop influenced, and recycled. with way more vocals, like, actual words etc. tends to have really really femenine production aesthetics. cant stand it personally. this is just atmospheric or ambient jungle with mid to late 90s flare.
