For anyone wondering; the gem there is called Aura quartz, which is a man-made stone made from infusing quartz with platinum or titanium. Here he’s just stuffed a piece of it in wet clay and acted as if he’s just dug it up :)

Aura quartz does occur naturally in extremely small amounts, but you wouldn’t find that much like that. This is because natural aura quartz is one of the rarest things that can be made, and normally the titanium never fuses with the quartz, but with extreme pressure from the mantle it can sometimes. This also makes other minerals: Aurocarbite (Ti6SiO3C4) Auroaurite (AuSiO2Ti4) Auroplatanite (Pt4SiO2) The rarity of natural aura quartz is 0.000000142ppm. So this is definitely fake.

@@annexberri I'll explain. Those crystals are coated with certain metals to give them that appearance, much like quartz crystals coated with titanium. The only way to "find" them is to plant them. He also finds perfectly round stones, which aren't natural, and can't all be found in one single location on the planet. He chisels with a screwdriver knowing exactly what their dimensions are. They have no matrix attached (attached or surrounded by rock).

Fortunately, it's possibly a few miles away from the stone you discovered. You can wait for a transport boat in the next few days to arrive and sail you towards that volcano.

I mean you don't need to chisel them put of stone or live near a gem quarry to find crystals. I find football sized quartz crystals barely buried in the dirt of my home mountains in utah. I will add I've never seen a crystal that looks like that though
