We are finally starting our apartment search in Okinawa. We are looking to rent an apartment that is pet friendly for under $500 a month. Surprisingly finding a place for less than $500/mo isn't the hard part, but finding a place that allows dogs has been.

You should always go visit on Friday night at 11pm to see if the Yakusa next door have loud parties and killings at that hour.

I live in Okinawa City. I pay about $800 or less for everything, rent which includes water, gas, power, phone and internet. Jobs out here are scarce and onbase AAFES and MCCs jobs pay really low. Luckily I got a GS. But I don't get LQA.

Awesome! We were looking in Uruma and Okinawa City. I believe they happen to be some of the cheapest prefectures as well.
In Canada a small apartment can be 3700 Canadian dollar…. You live in a dream world for 500 dollar😂😎
what rental agencies did you go through ???
I'm looking for an apartment for about the same price here in oki but i don't have any dogs or cats

Awesome! You’ll have a lot more options then. Because we have a dog like 80% of the places that were available didn’t allow pets.

Rent is so cheap there. I assume jobs don't pay very well and may be hard to come by.

That's great! There are real estate offices all over. We just started talking to them. If you don't speak Japanese though, your options maybe a bit more limited.
