Wonderful town! My Aunt had practically the last farm left in existence bear to Oxford proper. I visited last around Thanksgiving 1978. Both Aunt and Uncle are gone now. Near two year ago. The farm is gone now too. There are 6 or 7 fancy neighborhoods now where it used to be. Progress an Godspeed. where it once stood

The only major drawback I can see is the tornadoe problem. Scary when it happens and it does.

Lived there three years. Didn't have one in my time. Knock on wood.

You should do a comparison video of retiring in Mississippi vs Florida.

And best of all, it's no longer a dry county.

I'm very proud of my home town of Oxford. I'm proud of its beauty, its history, its culture and most of all how far we've come. We have all of the best of Southern charm, history and tradition without the ignorance, backwardness and conservative "Christian" fundamentalism that infects so much of the state. Oxford may not be a paradise for the average CBN News viewers. Thank goodness!

Does the community accept brown people like myself?

I went to school there and never saw any issues. Not saying it's perfect but no city tries harder to put that part of its past behind them.
