Store cleaned hydration bladders and hose in the freezer. They are almost impossible to completely dry out and this keeps them bacteria and mold free.

I still have my bike and kit from the mid 90s, still use them often when I feel like a retro ride. Except helmet, use newer ones for sure.

I’ve got kit I bought in 2009 on sale at Kohl’s … still wear it almost every ride. My hydration pack is from 2003 at the latest. Not the reservoir, but the rest of the pack.

I buy boxes of ballistic or protective spectacles from Bollé & Uvex safety. One less thing to care about, plus I'd argue they are safer than most sports glasses...

I love the Camelback Podium bottles because every single piece of the lids comes apart for easier cleaning. The mud guard for the mouthpiece is killer too!

My favorite TLD jersey has a strip of microfiber fabric sewn inside of it at the bottom hem for cleaning glasses. It’s a nice little touch that’s come in handy. Cedar shoe trees or cedar chips in a fabric bag work great for controlling odor from shoes as well!

Good info, but just wanted to point out that once your waterproof shoes start letting water in it cannot be "reproofed". It has a similar liner as a Gore-Tex jacket. Once a seam or a hole as been worn, there is no repairing it. The reproofing you were talking about will only add an outer layer of DWR repellance that won't last long on shoes and is mostly pointless due to how fast it will come off. A cheaper alternative is to use normal bike shoes but use waterproof socks that are much cheaper and can be changed out once they start letting water in.

I put my Fox helmet liner in the washing machine like Neil recommended and it got destroyed! How about a new free lid GMBN??

I also find that washing my stuff makes it age more. Rather just wipe clean and wipe dry after use, rather than go through some deep bathing ritual.
