I was so scared and wanted to be knocked out. if good surgeon, you wont be knocked out, but you are close enough to it. If felt nothing but my anxiety. it left. went fast. My site was so bad and had glaucoma and tea duck repair too. I was so nervous, they gave me a double block. i felt nothing all night. No sandy feeling nor itching. Nothing at all. They should double block everyone... next day I took the patch off and he said the best he could do would be 20-80, maybe 20/60 if i was lucky because of issues, and It was so bad by the time i finally got brave enough to have this done. I was so blind I was losing my independence. nope, i know its more like 20/20 he gave me! yea... wont know for sure till the first of the week, but I see even small print from a distance. its great.

My father had his cataract surgery yesterday. I was told that after an eyedrop he should keep his eyelid shut and press between the eyelid and nose for 30 secs to avoid drop going down the canal. What's the truth??

I have used anti-inflammatory eye drops for over one month followin my cataract surgery, but my doctor said I still have inflammation, and she prescribed nine more days of eye drops. She said i will be fine. But I’m a bit worried that the inflammation won’t go away. What happens if the inflammation still doesn’t go away?

I had my surgery 4 weeks ago but still my vision is foggy. During the procedure, my doctor injected an anesthesia near my eyes and after that he applied pressure and was pushing my eye for about 5 minute. He said the reason he did that is to numb the eye. Was that normal?

Well, this procedure may be the most common and 'easy' operation in the world, but my apprehension is still somewhere between that of a root canal and open heart surgery (had both before). If you died on the table, you're just dead. They screw this up and you're blind which is worse than being dead.

Pointless taking such advice - it varies wildly from clinic to clinic to hospital and hospital. Even nurses at the SAME clinic give completely contradictory advice. You’re better off using your common sense and listening to your own body.
