Look What's Happening To Abandoned Train Station, CSX Trains Speeding Under Me & 4 Track RR Crossing
Ойын-сауық
Speeding Trains In Sidney, Ohio. Train Station Has This Happening, 7 Trains Under Me & Railroad Crossing With 4 Tracks. Railroad Maintenance Of Way Yard With Tank Car Being Repaired, Train Horn Salutes, Trains With DPUs And Train With Strap Dragging Through Town.
First we see a fast train booking under me while I am on an abandoned road bridge. The train is going under it and past a dilapidated train station. We take a close look at the train station. It is having the asbestos removed while I was there. CSX sold it to Sidney for a dollar and it is going to be saved. It needs the roof repaired due to a major leak that is causing damage and mold. It has been heavily vandalised and will need a lot of work and it will have to be moved back from the track.
Two CSX lines cross in Sidney. One is ex Big Four and uses 160.800 as the main channel and the other is ex Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and uses 160.230 as the main channel. The ex Big Four is next to the station and only gets about a third of the trains that the Toledo Sub ex B&O line gets.
I also went downtown to the railroad maintenance yard where there is a four track railroad crossing. I got a couple of trains here and then came back to the station. I got 7 trains total. 2 went by the station and 5 were on the Toledo Sub. You will hear a couple of horn salutes and see some fast trains booking through town in a hurry. Millenniumforce was also here. He is from Florida and has a big KZread channel. He was here for the Eclipse. By the way, I filmed a train going through the Eclipse at the perfect time. I got a train in Greenwich Ohio that showed up just as it was getting dark. You have to see that video! I will post it in a day or two. It will be epic!
A couple of the trains that went under me I had to reach my camera way out to get them so I hope you enjoy the effort. The closeup of my radio was not supposed to be that close. I don't know why it came out like that. It was supposed to show the frequencies on the radio screen. The information that I got on the train station came from a couple of local railfans. If you can add anything to it please leave a comment below. Also, let me know which train scene was your favourite because I am planning on coming back soon. I want to keep up with the train station improvements.
Filmed Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!
Please thumbs up and watch another JawTooth video to help my channel.

Maybe a nice restaurant. The Putnam CT station is divided into two restaurants. That whole area is the original downtown and pretty much dedicated to that theme. PW owns the tracks.
Respect for protecting industrial heritage and history! Looking forward to see when the building will be restored. Can be inspiring for model railfans.

Great video! Horn salutes, trains booking, great angles. The icing on the cake is the news that the train station is going to be reclaimed. Looks like a great little town for rail fans.
Wow! This is such a great video! It had a lot of everything. Besides the great trains, we really enjoyed seeing some rail fan buddies, the old station that is being restored and all the little details that you included, like the date of the rails. You don't always comment, but there are a lot of neat old buildings that we can see and neat views from bridges looking down. And we always enjoy your animals! Keep up the good work!

Sidney, Ohio is a convenient location to watch CSX trains based on the number of trains that you saw there on 9 April 2024, Jaw Tooth! I enjoyed watching the trains in this video. It is wonderful to hear that the City of Sidney, Ohio now owns the ex-Big Four train station in Sidney and is going to clean up and reuse it. Thank you for taking us to the former Baltimore & Ohio yard to look at the tank car and its fittings. The tour of the ramp facility to put bulky items on flat cars and the platform and ramp along the team track were interesting relics of by-gone business at this location. Thank you for showing us the date and manufacturer information on some of the rails in the yard.

I just realized that you caught CSX #308. I watched a video from the Tehachapi loop quite some time ago, and 308 was on a train out there. It has apparently gotten back closer to home.
If the station only needs to be moved six feet to be off CSX property why can't CSX sell six feet of land to the town? Save the cost of moving it.
@JawTooth
Ай бұрын
I was told they wanted it moved at least fifty feet. It will be interesting to see what happens. I am looking for more info on it.
@alanwbelcher
Ай бұрын
I thought he said 50’. Many times railroads require buildings be moved for safety reasons, to get public users away from proximity to trains. Amtrak for one requires that’s for a line to get new service. Rumors anyone?
@MazichMusic

Near the 8 minute mark, he said the building had to be moved at least 50 feet off of the CSX property. Lots of renovated stations are no longer located near tracks.

Some very interesting catches in Sidney! That long loading dock was a Team Track.
