I have a cotman box from 25 years ago now filled with professional W&N....I love it as a practical lightweight palette. Great for sketches. It just works.

I know what you mean about that box, I have one too, actually very practical and nearly indestructible! I even still have the tiny brush it came with! I need to remember it next time I need a spare. Never used much of the paint as I only really added a little pop of colour to. Ink drawings. Ultramarine and red mainly. Your palm trees look more authentic than most!

Loved watching the trees grow. 😊

Great art and ambience with the smooth jazz. I’ve never used colour of any kind in my “art”. I can put lines together to make it look like something. Should a mature (old) person dive into watercolor?

It was my first watercolor set: young age, few money, great enthusiasm. Which color is that you refil in the lower line at the left? I like It. Is it lavender or a kind of grey?

bravo..that painting looks great..there is a winsor newton set in my collection.

I had one of those to, one of my first , unfortunately my daughter used it when she was little and I lost it over the years.

Which Lavender colour is the one that you use? I' m asking because it looks somewhat more transparent than the one that I have thought Lavender is not the most transparent colour. But anyway... yours looks semi transparent. What brand do you use?

Yeah thats gr3! There is no cotman pigments in that box its all from different brands like schminche ds mijello aquatone etc. Its actually about the box that nostalgic feeling it gives me everytime i see it in my collection

I was bought this set recently and is the reason I started painting! When you refill with tubes, will the paint drip out when traveling? Also what small/tiny light would you recommend when traveling, that Aputure looks great! Love your work, very inspiring❤️

The paint from the tubes dries within a few days and can then be used just like the paints in pans.

@@heinundpiet thanks for the advice!! I seem to have a problem with the little paint pans sticking to the lid after being moved around. I have to pull them off then put them in their place. Your advice to let everything dry before moving is probably key although sometime I have to pack up and go!

@@DaleNewnham So when you're out and about and the paint isn't dry yet, place e.g. a piece of cellophane paper or watercolor paper (with a swatch of your colors on one side) over the pans to keep them from sticking to the lid. Typically paint overflow will cause the pans to stick in the box, but if necessary you additionally can secure them to the bottom of the box with a piece of blue tape.

What small book is that? I have been meaning to get a small sketchbook :)

From my wife: Dear Niaz, talking of which, please can you give a little more detail on what you found you needed to do and avoid doing, to enable you to enjoy watercolouring on this sketch paper? Have you ever used W&N Professional watercolour with the Royal Talens Art Creation sketchbook? If so, how did you get on with them? Just didn't want to pill or tear any pages if I can help it! We each newly have paInts and one of these sketchbooks in A6 size, not used them yet, and new to watercolour. Really like the square size format of yours more though. Thanks for such inspiring videos! 📓👩‍🎨👨‍🎨🖌🎨🖼🚗🏢🚦
