Look what I found at Derelict railway marshalling yard - Healey Mills, Horbury, Ossett,Yorkshire.UK

A Drone Adventure to Healy Mills marshalling yard in Ossett today. It cost £3.75 million to build in 1963 and closed in 2012 as coal production in the area fell.
The rolling stock was knocked over intentionally to allow the emergency services to practice for train accidents.

Hi I went in search of the abandoned railway coaches, couldn't quite work out where you stood to fly ? Managed to get the drone up of Healey Lane, but either the carriages have all been removed or I wasn't quite over enough.. Couldn't find any location nearby to get better visual access to see the old carriages if there still there, suspect they have all been removed now

I haven’t been there for a while, you can see the coaches here on my website Google map link: www.droneadventure.co.uk/places-to-fly/healey-mills-derelict-train-lines-with-train-carriages/ I managed to walk inside as there was a gate open for a small fishing lake.

I remember the various locos (class 47 and 56) doing the coal merry go rounds and storing the coal trucks at Healey around that time you would have been working at the site. Can even remember the drivers walking to work via Horbury Bridge. Only thing remains is a control room (2:17 mark in the video on the right of picture) at the Healey Mill end of the site and the lines north and south of the yard are still in use with all types of traffic including a London service from Bradford.
