Btw not only did they ai upscaled every texture. There's a texture called white.tga and it's just the colour white, and they upscaled that too. This means that all they did was plop every texture altogether into an AI upscaler and called it a day. Absolutely 0 effort. Source: I'm a modder who has made 175 mods, and I know other modders who have studied the engine for 20 years.

Wouldn’t have got this game anyways, because as a kid I enjoyed playing it just solo with the bots, and from what I’ve heard, that’s not really a focus of this remaster. And I wasn't there at launch but Ive experienced very few bugs, the game feels just as rough in multiplayer as it did when I was a kid. It's just a bunch of people trying different things and 1 guy in a vehicle spawn camping his way to victory

Bro I had so many problems with singleplayer. Half the cutscenes gone, sound cutting out, seizure death cam, weird movement in BF1 etc edit: oh yeah, I lost a match in galactic conquest only to find out that softlocks the entire thing on PC unless you have a controller. You can't built a new fleet without a controller.

This convinced me to finally buy the 2005 classic battlefront 2. Can't wait to play it again, it's only been like 15 years.

Fun fact. They only had THREE functional servers at release. We're talking a nostalgic gane with millions of fans looking for a trip down memory lane, and they planned 3 servers with a 192 max player count, on a game where matches had 64 players each. WTF was Aspyr thinking?

As much as I wanted to otherwise, I'm glad that I listened to my guy and not bought the game when it was announced. How can they mess up this bad? The framework was already there, all they had to do was add in some features, update the UI, fix up the small glitches, and made dedicated servers and BOOM would have been instant gold

It’s funny because assuming Aspyr ever fixes the matchmaking and stuff, it’s not like people will actually come back to the game like they did with cyberpunk 2077 after bug fixes.

This game was vandalided destroyed, freaking pumbled ambushed and now you and thousands were forced to watch pure beauty turned into massacre, Zanny I salute you good sir.

I remember slotting in the disc for battlefront 2, and listening to epic star wars music as I set up a playlist of battles to fight and then the classic zoom in sound, and the spaceship fighting was awesome, the tanks and vehicles were great, and EVERYTHING WORKED PERFECTLY. I see now that I can't trust anyone but Fromsoft or Capcom to make good content anymore.

Pro tip: If you miss old Star Wars games and don't want to find yourself in a morally gray area: 1. Get the original games on GOG (multiplayer not guaranteed). Or 2. Get the Dark Forces Remaster. The only good Star Wars re-release I've seen in a while.

When I heard they were remastering old school battlefront I had a hard time finding footage of it, but then I realized they didn't really "remaster" the game, they're just rereleasing it. It's good when old games get rereleased like this, but I figured they were going to update the graphics a lot more than they did. It would certainly justify the 70gb size.

Unpopular opinion but…..hell the fuck no! I get the game is pokished horribly and in a *terrible* state….but these opinions of yours are not wanted by 99% of us. The graphics didn’t need to get any better. Been playing the originals for the past day, does not feel dated….we want the og nostalgia. The way they made the graphics the same but also better is the perfect middle ground Some textures are…….leaving lots to be desired. Overall…..I would say better. Depy faces are simply a feature at this point. The lighting and graphics are incredible in my eyes

When I’m sad, about to cry, I watch Zanny’s videos and he never fails to make me laugh and make my day.

I find it funny how when trying to remake even an OLDER game now from the 2000s, they still manage to STILL release it in a completely unfinished and bugged out state
