I am mostly housebound and can't wander the yarn store like you get to, so I LOVE watching these videos! 😍 I also wanted to let you know that "mélange" isn't part of the name of the yarn, it is just French for "blend." If you look, the label says "Facets" then "Acrylic Blend" with a line under it, and below the line, it says "Facettes" with "Mélange Acrylique" below that. It is just the translation of the name and fiber content into French so they can sell it in Canada, where everything must be listed in both English and French.

The names on the new facets are by the yarn size. Look under the QR code That one you only found 1 of is called coastal

I can't drive due to seizures but I love watching you get the yarn I sit here and I'm hollering get that one get that in Crystal get that one. Most of the time you get it. I think it's hilarious. You would not believe how much I talk to you on the videos. I think I'm losing my mind.

The Faucets yarn kind of makes me think of Red Heart's Unforgettable Yarn 🙂

I loved your confusion. I went to Walmart last night and had the same experience, in a completely different location and they cut it down by at least 50 % and we didnt have much to begin with. Now it is mail order or Dollar Tree only for my yarn shopping. Enjoy the Michael's experience, lol.

WoW! That Michael's has a MUCH LARGER selection of yarn than mine does. They were resetting a lot of things when I was in there last week. I hope they're going to make their yarns more prevalent but I won't hold my breath. I received some scarfy yarn in a mystery bag. It was ok but not what I was expecting. I gave it to my grand daughter. Loved shopping with yall!

You should be happy you have such a great selection. They finally put in a Michaels in my town. Employees say it’s an experimental store. I told them to tell corporate that the experiment failed. I have more yarn in my stash than they have on their shelves. Example: of the 106 or so colors Red Heart Super Saver made, my Michaels only carries 14! Yes, I counted! Ggrrr

They redid our Michaels a few years ago. We have one and a half aisles. Down from over 3.

How do you crochet for charity and how long does it take per project. And is it your own will and money spent on buying the yarn or your in a charity group?

@@sayyadahmariamfatemah1134 I am in a group. I Googled "crochet groups near me" and found a local group that collects crochet and knit items for various local charities. I have a lot of one skein colors and partial skeins that are good for baby hats. I use a lot of my own yarn, but because the group is well established, we do have a yarn room filled with donated yarn. We are allowed to take 2 or 3 sleins per visit as long as we bring donations in. Everything is tracked...the number of skeins taken and the number of items being donated. I learned amigurumi this year, just to learn something new. I love making toys for children in the hospital or for children with trauma (police give them to children), but I've also made hats for donations and fingerless gloves for dialysis patients. All Crystal's tutorials! The toys I buy patterns for on Etsy. There are also toy making tutorials on KZread! I hope you will try to search for a group near you.

One of my all time favourite things is shopping for yarn at Michaels!! I am living vicariously thru you as I just can’t afford to by yarn often!! So exciting!! ❤❤

We have nothing like this in UK, only Hobby craft which is a bit useless, and had a missing light bulb in the yarn for over a year if you like choosing yarn in the dark perfect !!!! Thanks Crystal

Michaels and many other yarn stores seem like they have had super low yarn stock since late last year. The Luxe Merino were limited edition before. But appear to have been brought back permanently. Same thing with the Caron Cloud Cakes. I LOVE Caron Cloud Cakes. It’s so soft and light. It’s like they spun dryer lint into yarn. 😂

Would love to see you have your own line of yarn someday! Bag-O-Day Yarn!

She almost did have a line made with a popular yarn company (I won't mention by name). She went through the whole process of "designing" the colors and they even sent her some samples... but in the end she cancelled the deal because she didn't like the pricing they wanted to put on yarn with her name on it. If you look back through her playlists you might be able to find when she was telling us about it.

I’m happy about the lux merino yarn. I do love the new colors of the Caron cakes.

Just an FYI, Melange means "blend" in French.That store has a better & bigger selection than both our Michaels. I used to work at 1 and they don't mind you looking in the bottom bins, as well as Hobby Lobby. Those are just overflow bins. I may have to go get some of that white. They're pretty! Great name for that yarn

I find clearance Caron cakes every time I go to Michael’s. They are NEVER marked! I just take them to the price checker to find out what is on sale. I got 2 blossom cakes for $5 each yesterday. Not all blossom cakes were marked down, but I got a yacht club and a macaw.

I think I’m liking that textured twist, those colors are pretty

Colors is what catches the eye and make of the pattern too.

I always look through the drawers below and the boxes above when I’m in the yarn section in Michael’s. Every store I’ve been in to have been understaffed so, I take the initiative to find what I’m looking for. I’m not mad at people who do this as they’re also looking for what they want.

I was blessed yesterday I went to Michael's and score 3 of the caron cakes in cream. I so wished they had more they are so soft and beautiful.

If you look just above where it says the yarn weight on those loops and threads, it tells you the name of the colorway

That twisted yarn, you bought so much of, is so Bag O Day colors. I'd name it "Fall Harvest", as it looks like different colors of corn. Thank you for sharing your yarn adventure.

I would call that fall colored yarn Autumn Forest! Great color for fall!

Hi Crystal and BOD family from across the pond in the UK, North Staffordshire, the town of Newcastle under Lyme (which is celebrating its 850 anniversary of being granted a charter to hold a market this year). Its 1.30pm here and i am having lunch watching your video and all your lovely yarn purchases. I think the "glistening/sparkly" yarn names are on the front of the wire baskets they were in by the price. Think I saw the one that was empty was called fawn. Love the crinkly yarn - how about an English name for it Autumn 😊 certainly reminded me of the colours of autumn leaves. I just checked online and it says my Michaels doesn't carry the new facet yarn! I'll have to keep my eyes out, it's my absolute favorite yarn to work with. I think they would make beautiful summery shawls!

I unfortunately due to heath issues don't get to travel far from home. I had a online order in Jan that never arrived and I had to go through some issues to get a resend. If they changed their company for deliveries I would order online but really hesitant to order online and getting there is not possible. I love the facets sparkle yarns Oh my gosh the new yarns making me want more yarn and I am supposed to be on a yarn ban. When I go to a one bedroom apartment I don't know where I will put my yarn. But boy oh boy I am tempted to go and give Michael's online another chance. Have a great day.

The trick with being short & have a difficult time reaching, check either the summer stock & see if you can find any tongs from bbq section or the easiest is to hit the artist aisles with brushes & paints - grab a big ruler & use it to reach the yarn. ❤️ "advice from a 4ft 11 inch tall yarn addict!! 🧶🧶🧶🧶

I love the color white or cream in the latte cakes my favorite as well .I just got my 1 st latte cakes not to long ago to celebrate my PET SCAN came back clear ,and after the past 2 years of going through this Breast Cancer journey it’s been a long ,long ,and rough couple years so I spoiled myself . Congratulations Rebecca!! So happy for you that your scan came back clear. I am a 10-year breast cancer survivor. Must have been a different type as I never had PET scans done. But I know some require those scans. I will add you to me prayer list, that you stay cancer free.

When Caron Cotton Cakes first came out they had solid colors. I had several cakes of white and teal that I ended up using for throw pillow covers. But that was several years ago, and I haven’t seen solids in any of the Caron Cake varieties since that I can remember. I need solids and variegateds! 😜
