I want to buy the Pokemon Scarlet game but whenever I see the reviews online people say it's a beautiful glitchy mess so now whenever I see the game it's like it's saying buy me I promise I'm not glitchy you see Pokémon it's like bubble gum and the Pokemon bubble gum lost its flavor years ago all I want from a Pokemon game is to collect monsters and fight bosses🔥🌳🌊

The shiny rayquaza is actually a tie in with the current anime. The same goes with its standees as they are all major Pokémon in the anime such as the captain pikachu one.

Thats also why it comes with a golduck, as one is used by the main antagonist group of the series, along with a Rhydon, Corvaknight and Cerulegde.

It's literally just B-daman, could also be why they didn't localize it no idea how well that actually sold but I know it went a lot longer in Japan Also the Black Rayquaza set is clearly themed around the anime, the ball, the specific standies(i.e Golduck) all relevant to Horizons

Watching this really does show how much horizons inspiration and even JNs there is in this, with Cinderace and lucario being paired up like Ash and Goh in the anime, thr golduck being Onia's Golduck, and the black rayquqaza being in the unique pokeball that Lucius, the legendary adventure, uses

Golduck and Rayquaza both have weather-cancelling abilities, too!

A lot of the Pokémon standee selections, and Shiny Rayquaza make sense because they're references to important Pokémon in the new anime!

they reminded me of another anime I felt no one remembers, then I realized they're just B-Daman, where they were marble launchers and could have attachments on the back to store MORE marbles, or be able to shoot with one hand, etc. Where this pokemon themed one shoots discs instead Very interesting to see this kind of thing make a return as B-Daman was like 20 years old

Technically B-Daman has come back a few years ago but it reinvents the concept into a new toyline called BOTTLEMAN where they shoot Bottlecaps and it has been around since 2020 They also did bottleman remakes of B-daman from older generations but our community was suprised when pokemon ultimatch was announced cus it was basically DHB or Direct Hit Battle which was an actual B daman game back then but somehow did not make a comeback in Bottleman

Oooh, what about a page from Bottleman, the successor to B-Daman. They have a Bottleman that fires the bottlecap ammo on its side instead of being flat. I think it's called Wonder Grape. I really like the homage to some B-Daman gimmicks from this review: the Pokeball closing reminds me of one gimmick from the older B-Daman series where you can shut your opponent down if you hit a spot on their B-Daman, causing their core to be blocked off and unable to return fire. The grip squeezing bit to fire stronger shots on the Legendaries reminds me of the Emblem Charge series of B-Daman.

It's like Battle B-Daman and Pokemon had a baby

6:46 well technically yes, Garchomp is already in the Paldean dex by default, but it's confirmed that metagross would come in the 2nd DLC.

"Technically" yeah, Garchomp *is* indeed there, filling in for the "any of these two", although I don't think Metagross will be in Paldea, since the 2nd DLC events will happen in the Blueberry Academy, which I think was already established to be within Unova's frontiers.

Black Rayquaza comes with standees of Corviknight, Rhydon, and Golduck because those three are used by a trio of characters in Horizons, where Black Rayquaza is also a major character.

As a Beyblade fan as well as a Pokémon fan, I believe I have identified Lucario's gimmick, it is likely Lucario is made at least partially made out of POM (PolyOxyMethylene) plastic, a softer kind of plastic that is used in Beyblade drivers like yielding, bearing, eternal, and never because it produces less friction.

I love that toys like this are still a thing.

I would have loved this as a kid!! Putting beyblades together on the way home was my favorite part of those!

I know I'm not the only one who was thinking of B-Daman while watching this

Reminds me a lot of Bottleman, tiny figures that shoot bottle caps. They have a very diverse set of power-ups, but some of that involves transforming and combining things, and I don't think that works with this set-up.

I'm turning 30 soon too. Never stop loving your hobbies, especially if you apply your Gnoggin to it and judge it more objectively like what stuff you might have enjoyed as a kid or seeing something you used to love and still love evolve.

I am sure someone mentioned this, but it kinda reminds me of the B-Daman toyline. Just this uses Disks instead of Marbles.

When you were explaining it, I thought it was just Pokemon flavored Battle B-Daman. It's not much different, but a little. Seems easier and less painful tho lol.

Yeah, I definitely would never have used the actual rules to play this as a child. I'd have been hyper-fixated on the figures and found a dozen different, unrelated uses for them. At least one of which would have been a weird chess variant or something. Also, I couldn't let this go. That is an absolutely gorgeous looking Divine Comedy.

This is oddly nostalgic for me. Reminds of the Pokemon toys I used to play with.

9:30 - After years of putting together the Takara Tomy Pokemon models (and doing custom paint jobs on some to make Shiny versions), I can say that the detail stickers for Pokemon products are INTENSELY frustrating. (My advice to anyone thinking about getting into the Pokemon model kits: don't even ATTEMPT the stickers on Ho-oh's talons. Just spring for a small bottle of white-out and save yourself the headache!)

I had something similar as a kid. It was of gen 4 and you had to shoot tiny pokéballs at the starters on a plastic board with a transparent roof so they would pop out of their sockets.

Pikachu is the captain of the flying ship they travel around, Charizard is the profesor figure partner, Rhydon and Golduck are the evil team grunts partners and the shooter Black Rayquaza is a plot Pokémon in the anime that drives the story forward

Ooh it's like a ranged Rockem-Sockem-Robots, I like it! Also reminds me of the board game Catacombs, which is like D&D combat but the attack rolls are replaced with physically flicking your tokens at each other.

I feel like one idea you could have is increased strength or speed. So Decidueye, who fires feathers, could have a longer range but deals maybe one point. Meanwhile, Machamp who is more close up can't fire them far but does three points.

Reminds me of an older series, I think it was called Beatamon, where you shot marbles from little robots. Had a few of them growing up.

this is what I used to do with a motorized foam disc shooter gun and my G.I. Joes and Transformers toys. I knew I should've sold that idea to someone to make a ton of money.

The coolest toy ya got in years that ya can show on youtube is certainly a sentence lol

So it's basically a pokemon version of B-Daman, with the main difference being that they shoot disks instead of marbles.

The reason two of the cards were golduck and rhydon specifically is because two of the villians henchmen use a rhydon and golduck its why captain picture is a sticker and black raquayza has that golden pokeball it's all anime promotion.

Imagine if this is available worldwide, and somewhat had a competitive scene with this? That'll be cool for the kids who wants in on the action of Pokémon competitive at their own terms.

Maybe they are shooting discs because the Pokemon moves are from HMs and TMs? I really wish they brought them over to the states.

I mean, it's probably because B-Daman flopped TWICE over here, so maybe Pokemon/Takara Tomy didn't want to risk bringing this over? Even though the Pokemon branding might've boosted sales a little, i don't think it would have been worth bring a multi-expansion product/game over.

We didn't get Bottleman, which this game is derived from (except with plastic bottle screw caps instead of the disk things) for some reason though. RIP -Kerpepsi- Kerpepus (though it was released in Southeast Asia with the anime getting an English dub, as is commonly done by lazy and/or cheap localizers in the region who don't want to bother with all the different languages but at least it means Bandai's side of Bamco can make English translations of licensed and Gundam video games we'll never see in English otherwise))

This is just battle B-daman's Direct Hit Battle!!!!!! Don't get me wrong its cool, and it may temporally fill that B-daman itch if Bottleman is truly gonna end this year, but I fear its gonna run into the tame problems Bottleman has. Takara, if you wanna make B-daman so badly just make B-daman.

this absolutely looks like something pokemon would have sold in the 90s, but I think the US has gotten stricter on toys for kids with smaller parts (or at least, *foreign* toys) due to the choking hazard. it may simply take too much effort to be worth trying to import nowadays. esp since American kids rarely want *toys* and instead want apps for their tablets so there's less demand for toys like this. but nice to see somewhere in the world is still making proper toys for tots!

Legitimately think it's something to do with the small discs being launched at a decent force for why this isn't brought over to the West. Lego has sort of fazed out their launching mechanisms on a lot of their toys, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Pokemon Company just didn't want to bother with potential issues here with the discs. Plus the many added stickers you need to attach to the toy, I can see complaints arising here over these somewhat small issues. It's a shame cause this does look like something I would have played as a kid and can easily see making fun games with them or doing what me and my brother would have done and shooting at each other to see how hard they hit.

Beyond that, i think it’s probably because the last time b-daman was localized it kinda failed, and this is just pokemon b-daman, literally made by the same company, so they dont want to try again.

This is just pokemon's version of Battle B-demon toys, but like.. 15 years too late? There's more for you to dive into with those comparisons but at least Pokemon is trying to make it a "next gen" version? kinda? XD Great video as usual though!
