Bass part is actually better for me than the Mike’s part. Goes well with the phase of Brandon’s singing

Ben is getting it ON with that bass.

I love this song, and the lyrics are (as usual) very meaningful. Thanks to their brain-power. The intro is awesome, Mike Einziger is perfect. A good performance anyway. I love very much this lively rhythm and lyrical melody. A pure power of music for me. It beats out the rhythm frantically and it blows your mind. So smile and look alive ...Yeah every empty one of us have methods... To quell the madness of this pace .. *Like dollar store mascara down your face (I like very much this figurative language and I find it's fun. Certainly because of my teenage mind. Ha!) ... Give me love, not suicide .... That's speaking to me currently.

this is a real contemporary rock band. I don't understand how they're so underrated tho. here in the UK, I've never heard them on the radio or TV (same with smashing pumpkins)

all sounds the same - intelligent music incubus really isn’t a big radio band even here in the US (aside from Pardon Me and Drive). I think it’s just musical taste, not sure, but I agree they’re not played enough

I'm British and I think they're incredibly underrated over here. Drive gets some play on Kerrang and I've heard them play the other Make Yourself singles but yeah they're largely forgotten about, which is a shame

Since that comment I have discovered Faith No More-a band whom greatly influenced Incubus. Now I wonder if FNM are even more underground than the latter in the UK. Wicked band.

@mentalmilitia I'm not. As a matter of fact, his absence is apparent especially in songs like Consiquence. Ben doesn't have the same skill set or replicate Alex's intensity.

i really can't be the only one who thinks brandon doesn't sound 100%. i will keep saying this, that microphone makes him sound like crap. if you watch the jesus christ superstar stuff he sounds fine or anything right before he decided to use that vintage looking mic. whatever that thing is it makes him sound weird.

Josue Andrade Its not the mic hes using, as he normally uses a beta 58a. There he is using a super 55 deluxe, which is the same mic just in a different case.

I think it's more the fact that his gain is high and voice volume is really loud, but has a noise gate that leaves almost no sound. The second he lowers the intensity, it's over for that note, so you can't feel the voice blend in with the rest of the instruments. He also seems a little tired, but anyway he still sings the notes right, maybe a little echo effect and little less volume on his channel would've made this sound much better- just my opinion, anyway

I dont think Ben js bad, like he has genius moments. But Dirk is better.

Look Alive and Punchdrunk shoulda been on Light Grenades instead of some of the mediocre songs that made it.
