Longreach To Muttaburra | Outback Queensland | Campr

In another jam-packed episode of Campr we spend an afternoon cruising the Thomson River in Longreach. They say the Thomson is one of the cleanest rivers in the world because there is no p in it :'D
It's a must do adventure when you are in Longreach , one of a bunch of things you can do with Smithy and the team from Outback Aussie Tours . In fact, the cruise culminates with dinner and a show that's a really special outback experience under fairy lights strung through coolibah trees.
One way to get to Longreach is by train and our good timing has seen us in town at the same time as The Spirit of the Outback . One of the great train rides of Australia, The Spirit of the Outback is a service between Longreach and Brisbane and takes 24 hours to complete. It's a great ride!
Nine seasons of drought up this way has brought tears to the eyes of many a farmer and in this episode, we venture northeast to Muttaburra-through some very hard country with an almost moon-like surface...drier than a dead dingoes dong... well you know what I mean.
This country was a whole lot wetter when the dinosaurs roamed it and it's not far from here that Queensland's first dinosaur bones were discovered.
More recently the Muttaburrasaurus has found a snazzy new home, smack bang in the middle of town. It's all in this episode of Campr. Enjoy!

Doing a great job for the West Deano, next time in Longreach drop down South to Stonehenge, have a beer with Rolly, then on to Juneau, and Windorah, love that country.
