[Longplay] Spiderman - Kellogg's Demo [Easy, All Available Comics]

As promotion to the upcoming movie and its tie-in game, and as part of a campaign with the the DFA, Kellogg's offered a demo CD of the Spider-Man game from 2000 (the PC port is from 2001) - in exchange to proof-of-purchases of some products.
This time I played on Easy, as some lines are missing if you play on Hard. This allowed me to toy around the levels more freely. I also played more straightforward, since you should've seen the level already in the longplay of the full game.
The following lists the changes between the demo and the full game:
- Only the first 3 chapters are available to play (up to the fight with Rhino). The levels themselves are fully-playable without any cut or blocked content from the full game.
- Only "New Game", "Options" and "Quit" are available in the main menu.
- The model of Spider-Man is changed to look more like the costume from the upcoming movie. Spidey's model in the FMVs is unchanged.
- The title screen is changed with a logo from the movie. In addition, when quitting the game, there's a promotional screen with the "Got Milk?" slogan.
- Billboards around the city are replaced with promotional ads of Kellogg's products and the upcoming movie. In the full game, Spidey used to refer to some of the original billboards ('Tony Hawk, I used to stake with that guy' for example), which he does not refer to accordingly.
- The game is lacking the cover arts for each chapter.
- The intro FMV is missing.
- Stand Lee's narration in "Get To The Bank" (the first level) is missing.
- This version has a native 30FPS cap, while the full game has no FPS cap at all.
- Cutscenes are programmed to fit 30FPS, rather than 25FPS in the full game. this means, for example, that the glass in "Bank Approach" is shattered at the right timing. In theory, this also means that the building sequence in "Catch Venom" would've been fixed, should the rest of the levels be featured in this version.
The game's folder contains additional promotional content for the upcoming movie and its tie-in game, such as videos, screenshots and wallpapers. I might upload the videos, since I havn't seen them on KZread at all.

Oh my gosh THIS! THIS was my first Spider-Man game, the Kellogg’s demo, not the PS1 game. Oh man good times good times ❤❤❤❤❤❤
For the longest time I didn’t know if this was real. I had the PS1 game but vaguely remembered getting a disc in the mail and playing the same thing on my moms PC.
They really put a modded demo into cereal boxes to promote the movie... didn’t even use a demo of the game based on the movie they were promoting... smh

Likely because the game was still not finished. The intro not shown in this video was fairly rough compared to the final product.
I really wish there was a way to download and play this game all over again. This was my favorite video game ever and it also elicits a lot of nostalgia.

Anyone else remember the companion disc that came with the DVD release of the first movie. It was supposed to be a video walkthrough of the first 3 levels of the game, or something. I really hope it ended up on KZread.
Ah, the memories I had playing this. I believe my brother found this at a rummage sale. I played it all the time when we didn’t have Internet on the computer. I like how it was a graphically updated version of the N64 game
I remember getting this in a cereal box and it was like my 3rd PC game next to the Taco Bell games they used to have LOL. I remember my mom & dad bought me a PC controller as well. Good times, good times.

When I was a kid I thought this was a demo for Spiderman The Movie The Game but then my bro got the actual movie tie-in game and it was nothing like the demo and it took me years to find out that the demo was a modded version of the other Spiderman game.... Was anyone else as confused as me????

Well, this demo was promoting the movie game, so the confusion is justified. I don't know they they havn't made a demo based on the actual game.

I read your description about the 30 fps and catch Venom building scene, you mean Spider-Man randomly climbs the side of the wall when the cutscene ends because of fps? Lol

in the movie the peter parker see funny spider and tries to milk! But , no milk he shoot power iunstaed! now the funny spiderman has to go into the town and get teh green goblin bvecause he is stealing all the toes of hte world!! Kind of a shame they didn’t put the whole game on the disc. Then we’d have a pc port of it today, being kept alive by fans

It's called a demo for a reason. What is more unfortunate, is that this version fixed many issues the original had - mainly adding frame cap and fixing the in-game cutscenes. If only we could use that to path the original.
