I agree with you about the trolling motor. I bought a used Terrova with I pilot and spotlock. I love it. Game changer for sure.

Good stuff. I wholeheartedly agree on the trolling motor, and I'm still using a 25 year old foot control. I'm sure I look hilarious at times when I'm by myself. Just at a stage of life with family and budget issues where its hard to justify the cost when I only get to go a handful of times a year.

When u use the line stopper deal hows that work when u hook a catfish? Will light drag work?

Drag will work fine until it hits that stop then there is no drag. I use 4lb. Test with a loop knot. It usually will break in the loop. I've had big blue cats hit so hard it sounds like a firecracker going off! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! You can longline year round however, the transition periods are the most productive times of the year, especially the prespawn. Other techniques are more productive at other times of the year. Use your speed to fine tune the depth you want your jigs to run. That's the main thing you want to use speed for.

What water temperatures do you normally like to do this in?

To me the time between beginning of prespawn to end of post spawn when they are moving in and out is vest time of year. Here in Georgia that would be beginning in late February. Temps will range anywhere between low 50s to mid 60s. You can use this technique year round though.
