Longimanus meets tiger shark Rocky Island, Red Sea, Egypt 17/10-2015 (full unedited version)

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

My personal footage (full version) of a longimanus that meets a tiger shark at Rocky Island, Egypt 17/10-2015. I believe it is a very rare occurence seing these two species of sharks together - so yes; I am very happy with my video footage :-)
Our dives at Rocky Island in the Red Sea were beyond incredible. Tiger sharks are seldom seen in the Red Sea, so to see 4 tiger sharks and at least 3 longimanus during our 3 dives there 17/10-2015 was utterly mindblowing :-)
BTW - I find it interesting that the longimanus seems to be the dominant one although it is significantly smaller than the tiger shark.
Min video (fulde version) af en longimanus, der møder en tigerhaj ved Rocky Island, Egypten 17/10-2015. Det er måske første gang, at disse to hajarter er filmet sammen, så jeg er meget stolt af min lille videofilm :-)
NOTE: This is the full unedited version. BEST SEEN IN HD!/SES BEDST I HD!

Me and my daughter were threatened by a Bull Shark once while snorkelling here in an east coast Australian river mouth. It came very close then swam away and then came back, its movements were quick and unpredictable. Luckily we were close to the rocks and swam like f**k. My wife who was on the edge said she never seen me move so fast. I was into scuba for a few years before, but it put me off completely as what happened in that video would have.

This is a really aggressive Longimanuses just looking for a reason to attack something & eat it. Even the much larger Tiger Shark at one point appears a little intimidated by its serious displays of aggression. It looks like an angry Pit Bull ready for a fight during the entire video. A perfect example to teach divers the signs of a shark exhibiting threat displays that should definitely be taken seriously. No mistake here, this shark means business. It should be watched at all times & given a wide berth, while showing it no vulnerability or fear. This is a shark that will take u out, if u disrespect it's space or turn ur attention elsewhere for too long. Not a shark to be messed with for sure.

At 1:55. The OWT goes into what appears to be a lateral line sensory position picking up the Tigers waves… the Tiger probably was curious and knew there were divers but clearly didn’t suspect there was an OWT. Perhaps it knew there was another shark like a bull and figured it safe until its poor eyesight was able to pick up exactly what it was dealing with. What gets me is the moment that Tiger flinches. Why did it do that? Was the Tiger watching the divers and then it suddenly noticed the OWT in a pissed off posture and scare it?

Whitetip hunts in packs and they tend to be night hunters. They are devastating in packs. Ww2 horror stories of ship crews after their ships get sunk they get picked off by the whitetip in packs. Tiger is a solo hunter. And they are nog called a tiger shark just because they have that camo. They also not rated top 3 for most dangerous sharks in the world. Tiger is a beast and I would stay clear of one if spotted. Give it room. It will and can make your day from nice to very very bad very quickly.
