@@Ahrths i guess my matches don't last that long when i only a level 2 people rage quit because they getting beating up by a new player and a low level because i know stats the games that teach me some strategy's where wizard101 db legends and even seven deadly sins grand cross

Honestly I think Konami did a actual good job with Master Duel I'm honestly surprised with how F2P friendly it is. Also while it is certainly longer than Duel Link's I just think it's just because we've been so used to the Rush Duel format remember this is the proper, and current TCG. Also even the Duel Pass / Battle Pass is purchasable with Jem's not just cash like I was suspecting.

Honestly everyone should get used to it if you've just played Yu Gi Oh Duel Links, Yu Gi Oh Master Duel is trying to capture both the TCG/OCG feel of Yu Gi Oh. And boy when i say they normally can last 30 minutes don't be surprised when the first turn take 5-10 minutes, apart from that it becomes progressively faster because you have all the materials at the start to use and you progressively lose more materials as you're losing/winning.

it's not about getting used to it mobile players in particular play mobile games cuz they are quick and u can have fun without it taking large chunks of ur day also with duel links it's a chance to play yugioh but without having to deal with the level of complexity of the tcg for me that was the main selling point not having 10 min turns is great and not having 5 negates boards is also great

There is a infinit ark loop in the tcg but it is absurdly cheesy but funny.(looping primal seed)

Unironically that was actually a great game. Altergiest are the sort deck that frustrate you if you can't keep up, and force a long grindy game out of you if you want to win. The Ultimate creature of destruction put in mad work.

Learn to read then i did not read is the best. Hes too confident. And next blame the game.

These duels are always the most hyped to me. Both players having actually interactions with each other trying to stop or break a board. You never know who's actually going to win so, it makes big brain plays even more sick to witness.

he kinda lost by turn 5 lol, against altergeist it's usually better to just forfeit once their cards outnumber your plays that deck just takes a long time to get to the killing blow

Doesnt matter that much vs most decks Setting in mp 2 was more important in formats where any set monstet could be ryko

Master duel is actually ocg format. Which is more control strategy oriented than the tcg so even compared to it the duels drag on even more. My experience witch control matchups is that they last too long and that when we played casual without time at my locals everybody got so bored for waiting us finish even the game 1.

Never played tcg, master duel is so overwhelming, opponents know plays and still takes 1-3 duel links duels worth of time for turn one. Then it's my turn and I take even longer not knowing 99.9% of the cards lol!

I came from Duel Links. Once you play the real TCG, it's hard to come back to duel links. In fact, I quit a a couple of months ago and enjoy the TCG so much more.

Just keep doing it until you get used to everything new, specially staples(a tip that i have is, memorize their arts instead of their effects, for me at least it's easier to learn combos that way, and when to be cautious of some monsters, since your brain will just recognize that shit hits the fan when it appears so you can think in a response to it beforehand; with enough time you will be able to recognize the effects just by the art alone) if possible watch edopro replays(or even use it) because they are really fast, so you can get used to the cards and also to the deck that you plan on using, you might also want to use it or some other simulator(as i suggested, if you're playing master duel which effects resolve automatically, you might want to use automatic simulators for that reason) for test hands in order to get comfortable with the deck and know how to proceed in different scenarios, or even practice against AI; it might not make the smartest choices sometimes but it still puts up a challenge when you leave it using a strong deck; and most importantly recognize when you should take a break, i hardly play and when i do it's like 3-5 matches at maximum, since i'm only willing to do so when i wake in a really specific mood that makes me want to play, so take your time with it, the game it's really complicated when you get on tcg/ocg, there's some things that even after such time playing i'm still learning(had discovered that chain block exist this week); so it's understable why some people just don't have the patience to learn it all

Had a duel that went kinda long also. They was pretty confident in their deck and what they was doing but the moment my deck kicked off on his turn he spent forever learning why their strongest monster has 0 atk and how I tributed to bring my big bad queen to rekt him and how I got spells and traps that stop everything he was doing (granted that Chain spell that causes dmg past a spell chain of 2 is a real mindfvk)

I built a full hero deck in 2 sittings and I built it completely free. Master duel is fantastic and the card crafting mechanic is such a god send

Too stressed with life rn as university got me going crazy. But I’ll try and play this game being a DL player only. Always liked the thought of more monster/spell/trap zones

Me and my friend dueled for about an hour (47 turns) and we loved every second of it

I really like the longer videos, Dkayeds commentary is Amazing.

This is average duel time if one of them is playing a control based deck. Now imagine two stall players trying to win the duel.

I went against SPYRALS in the TCG and their first turn took 26 minutes. That’s when the player used Soul Charge as his second play of the entire game.

@@johnhennessey5: this was when Double Helix and Quick Fix were at 3. It was during tournaments when we only had 42 minutes for the match and it was torture to sit through. He ended up triple co-linking Tri-Gate Wizard (but he used Proxy Dragon for the last co-link). Funny thing is that I bricked with DM during that game so he built an unbreakable board for nothing xD

Honestly I’d rather surrender than sit through a 26 opponent turn.

It's gonna be hard going back to the original dueling format considering I'm so used to duel links. Especially considering link and pendulum summoning are still very new to me. Also my go to decks (red eyes, aromage, knights of the round table, vampire, etc) pretty much are not gonna cut it anymore. Luckily pre-built public decks seem even easier to find and make due to the card crafting and learning about the the latest summoning should be easy due to solo mode. Still wanna make a good zombie or spellcaster deck.

its better than the game where your opponent play his first turn playing his whole cards and then duel ended.

I don't think dkayed knows that in actual Yu-Gi-Oh it can either take ages or minutes in a single duel.

Can anyone advise, not familiar with TCG but the first UR I pulled in master duel is Subterror Guru, is it worth spending gems on the Subterror box it unlocked? I love Subterrors in duel links but unsure if they are worth playing in this format?

The optimization is really good on console. You move around with d pad and scroll with control stick

This is how we know you don't play TCG normal matches can last anywhere between 5 minutes all the way to 40 minutes to an hour depending on the deck type

It is interesting to see the start of the mastery. I do remember Dkayed said he will be the best at this game. This video shows that anyone can be a master at something if they dedicate time enough to learn and keep learning. It is a brand new experience. Back to Duel Links! And then back tomorrow for more training, until mastery is achieved! The duels will be way longer though

The problem is all TCG decks are like that. I had a duel where I quintet his field and left him with 1 cards in his hand and he manage to SS his boss monster again with shitload of plays from 2 cards

Lol I had a crazy match like that today. I tried to update jammer accesscode talker for game and got him pretty low in life. Then he outed it and was like on no cards, but managed to get a board of 3 Eldlich. I top decked pot of avarice, recycled accesscode talker and swung for game on one of his eldlicch left in atk. I played througj I/O and a skill drain. There was a missplay on his end tho xD

Saying it took too long while yes some of the animations take too long but you were playing against Altergeist which is a control deck that slows down the pace of the duel

You can already click fast to speed past the animations

This length of duel is only bad when you are playing and watching it live but this was pretty cool to see it felt the show with your reactions and skill combined with your opponents

Some days ago i did literally more than 1 hour of duel against prank kids, when the turn was mine the enemy played for me, after all i won against it, i was really happy about that.

nice to see the growth ... today we see him saying i didnt know ... in future lets see how he duels KEKW

There's a couple different Duel Links decks that are viable in the TCG, but Darklords is not one I would recommend.

I'm trying Shaddolls cuz I heard it's easy for beginners or returning players but do you know any tips to build a good Shaddoll deck honestly I don't want to copy other decks I want to make my own Shaddoll deck different from the others but still effective just need to understand what monsters work better with it or what type of effects

It's another tcg/ocg game. Not going to change anything with duel links, also I don't understand all the people who forget it's just like duel links as far as f2p friendly it was at first. Duel links isn't going anywhere, which is why it exist in the first place. As for Master duel, I hope it last longer than the billion other tcg/ocg konami games that were abandoned... I agree i prefer the earlier ages of Yu-Gi-Oh alot more, even tho i think master duels is a good game i dont really like this modern Yu-Gi-Oh meta, i tried forcing myself to like this game because of the nostalgia but it's just really wierd and kinda boring in my opinion because you have some overly complicated combos that lasts very long to make, most card nowadays have massive walls of text, and there are decks that just can summon a full board of monster with more than 3000 atk and can negate any spell or trap card you have. idk the game just lost it's essence for me, i wish they had a gamemode where you could only use the OG decks or something like that.

Agreed. Animations and chains are the biggest issue. It slows everything down even more.

of all the possible decks you couldve chose to build first who in their right minds picked Altergeist...the fact he couldve easily ended it but chose to prolong the match explains the mentality behind the player and the concept of the deck

Literally just finished a 27 minute game... they need to reduce the time in between turns, instead of a total time.

Yeah way too much time gets wasted by animation and other small breaks between activations of effects.

I played a trap trick deck while bricking with domain monarchs. They were 1 card away from decking out while I had 6 left when they finally dropped zues and surrenders

That or if it's just not feeling too good just surrender. You don't lose ranks yet you just stagnate.

@@diegoalbertocastillo6320 if they take 15 minute turns and stall your gains wouldn't it be faster and easier to simply surrender? Especially if you draw one of your "brick" hands.

Tbh if the other player was any good the duel wouldve been over way sooner.

Hell I remember me and my friends would put down like 500 cards between us all and make decks from that and then duel. Just setting up too around an hour. Youth is great. You care less about time and still have fun

You'll get used to it. Making the transition from Duel Links to standard Yu-Gi-Oh is a doozy. As for meta, it's Drytron.

Yeah drytron is insane. I regret not making my first deck that. I'd have to learn it tho. I went with something more fun since IRL I already have Phantom Knights and Despia Albaz. I made a code talker deck in master Duel thats gotten me to gold 3 so far. It gets crushed against Drytron haha. Even if I iblee extra link lock, they can still out it if they run droplets.

Are you speaking from a Duel Links mindset? Because this game has competitive TCG in mind, so the duels are obviously going to take much longer than a Duel Links game would.

In DL, i love playing decks like triamid and metaphys - decks that i think makes me think more compared with other decks.. Any equivalents deck / archetype i should try in Master Duel that can still carry me towards end game?

If you want to think while dueling play crystrons or ritual beasts. A lot of different setups and combos to be had, you can play both in duel links as well.

None of those decks unfortunately, they all are weak in the meta game, You could build decks like; Eldlich, Tri-Brigade, Lyrilusc, dinosaurs (my favorite), Shaddolls (you have mixed versions of them but you can also play pure), Invoked (also mixed but pure I won’t recommend). Those are examples for competitive decks, there are others but some them requires more complex Plays as well as most of the needed cards are high rarities

D/D/D and Pendulum magicians are notorious “just play with what’s in your hand” type of decks where your hand determines how your combo goes, but once you play enough it does just end up feeling like you’re going through the motions. If you aren’t a fan of pendulum summoning Fluffal is a pretty big brain deck aswell.

@@muhsinsuhor9540. If top tier big brain decks are what you’re looking for, Tri Brigades is the only thing in the top tcg meta that I’d hazard to call big brain. D/D/D and Shaddoll Dogmatika are both pretty good and big brain.

You played very well! I hate altergeist so much. Its stall and negates for no good reason

I don't know if these cards are in your blue-eyes deck but add these. Number 97, number 92 and number 100. This combo is perfect for otk's. Number 92 is optional its just the card I choose to attach to number 100.

Even on duel links when darklords were full power games could often take 25 to 30 minutes then as well. This isn't new for duel links players either.

Is master duel working for anyone else? It just tells me that I was unable to connect to server

I literally had a 17 turn duel and i got so board waiting i went on tiktok lmao.

I just started the game building an altergeist deck because I thought it was top tier, but it actually have some other better decks (as google says), I'm still new to the current format and don't know how to counter certains decks but still I won 22 of 29 ranked duels, that's a pretty nice deck but all duels take at least 12 turns, I don't know if this happens reccurently or if is this deck that is slow

Altergeist is one of the best control deck. Even muktifaker is limited, it's still nice

It doesnt matter much as hardly a single card from those decks is playable but you get them from leveling up.

Man, 30 minutes and I'm SO glad I dropped Duel Links a month ago.

What is the deck list for this blue eyes deck?

I’m kind of surprised that Dkayed didn’t know the Altergiest deck at all. I know it’s not super meta but I felt like someone as knowledgeable as him would be aware of the deck.

Now I gotta learn about all the millions of cards that aren't in duel links 🤕 My first ranked duel was 24 turns and I won 👍
