That last part of Troy mobbing the top section is epic. The road is so much more messed up now, so many tar snakes and patches, it's a real piece of work. Love this clip, such a scary hill, respect.

Yes, it is crazy fast ! I drive the Piha hill every day. It's very steep! It drops about 900ft in 3km [ 2 miles], average. It can not be descended by car without brakes - in fact in summer, when it's popular, there's a pervasive stench of burning brakes the whole time during the weekends.

+Joel Sukkau It's not completely true that it's about the rider, it's mostly the physics behind trucks+wheels friction, but of course the rider can learn to control to get out of them. I say 50/50

Now that is living! Love your videos dude. I really want to get this level of downhill skating. Out of interest, why do you choose that kind of deck, I've got a board which has two inclines in the feet and is extremely low to the ground. I find it the most stable, is there any issue with that? I would appreciate your help :) Keep the videos up, love the editing !

Top mounts have more lean and leverage. With the proper bushing set up and balance, I find simple top mounts to be my favorite. I had a drop down drop through, then a drop through, now top mount. Top mount is way to go once your comfy going pretty quick.

the type boards he's using allow for more control but less grip while the one you described is pretty much the opposite.

Once again someone has said this was sped up :-( Like so many of the other videos I was there when this one was edited and I guarantee Crunchie did not speed up this video. He does not speed up any of his videos. Aside from the fact that he's not the type of person who would speed them up I know most of the longboarders in the videos and they simply would not be part any videos that were to be sped up. It's called integrity, what the hell is the point otherwise.

Race formula. There are three types of them. A cruising, a downhill carving, and a pure downhill wheel
