'Long overdue': Woolworths backflips on Australian flags welcomed
Supermarket giant Woolworths have apologised after backtracking on their Australia Day merchandise blackout.
In preparation for the Paris Olympics, Woolworths will sell national flags, green and gold cupcakes, doughnuts and a smash cake with $1 off every product supporting Paralympics Australia.
‘We acknowledge that we disappointed many of you and other customers when we decided not to sell Australian-themed merchandise in January this year,’ Woolworths said in a statement.
LNP MP Henry Pike joined Sky News host James Morrow to discuss the supermarket giant’s major backflip on Australian merchandise.
Mr Pike said he welcomed the move by Woolworths calming it was “long overdue”.

It is the Gl0bal1st intent to remove all Nation Identities, dilute the culture to near-zero, end Cash, suppress travel, and restrict movement with the 15-minute cities. One roomful, trying to dictate and mould the World to their greedy vision.
To little to late! I will not buy any over priced food from wokeworths
Wokeworths
Should I apologise to Woolworths for not 🤔 shopping in their stores since January 2024?
Did they rescind their DEI policy that caused all this? I'm not buying their spin.
Nope! Not buying it Woolies! Apologise for what you did, and mean it!🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
It's for the Olympics, not Australia Day.
I have shopped at Coles since Australia day. when Woolworths excluded itself from Australia Day. Our super markets do not dictate to us their customers what we should celebrate or who should govern us.
Hope not. If they backflip they’ll end up the same way they were going.
Coles shopper since January 2024. I will NEVER spend another cent at Woolies again, and the wording in their apology is so thinly veiled it's almost laughable. How stupid do they think we are ??. Just effing disgraceful.

At the end of the day wokeworth and Coles and our banks plus others all are owned by the same big companies Blackrock and Vanguard
I’ve been shopping at Aldi lately, cheaper, customer friendly with no agendas.
Let’s be honest here ,who actually buys this stuff? After Australia Day the shop is full of the stuff they can’t sell, paper cups ,thongs t shirts
Boycott Woolies and don’t buy any Australian themed merchandise during the Olympics from Woolies.
Dont forget coles or woolies didnt even sell Anzac biscuits in the special Anzac tins this year. These supermarkets are Anti Australian.
Can't remember the last time I was at a Woolworths or Big W. 🤔
I make it a mission to steal as much as possible from Woolworths… so easy with self serve check outs 😎👍
Baby Boo-hoomers still crying about this? How mature they are
Australian Flag, racist colonial rag. My family uses one as a doormat. Pity they don't print it on toilet paper.

Only Citzens (Latin for Slaves of the City) need flags. Your Lords and Masters have you well indoctrinated.
