back when this commercial came out 4-5 years ago the funniest thing nobody notices is in the bike courier scene. when they shyly look away from each in embarrassment after she basically asks "how to use it" you can see his back and it had *"Long Distance"* written across the back of his jacket.

I never get tired of the long man commercials. They are classic.

Good stuff, right? I wanted to see more of the story after is was done. I wish they'd make other stories like it.

The long sakeru gumi is often sold in conbini and maybe in big supermarkets.

I did, too!!! LOL. I wonder if they’ve stopped selling them everywhere. My local combinis use to have them but I haven’t seen them in a while 🤔

Its a shame we don't have commercials like this where i live.

This legendary piece of visual literature has been circling the internet for years. I remember seeing it first just after I started studying Japanese (almost 8 years ago). I'm surprised you didn't see it on Japan TV. I guess it didn't connect well. That's a shame, and a cultural shame

FYI: Chichan and Long Long Man didn't do the naughties,it was in her(ex)boyfriend imagination and Chicha lied about her terminal illness.

Funny Commercial for sure, but my Christian Sensibilities where Hurt a little @ the End there with the Blatant Propaganda, ChiChan was such a Traditional Woman, She didn't even want to Kiss Tooru San Until they got Married, & He Still left with Long Man Over Her, I honestly don't know how to react to that, it also kinda reminds me of that Japanese Tik Tock Video u did a few weeks back where the Woman rejected the Japanese Guy's Proposal.

I do hear ya, but I really don’t get a propaganda vibe from this commercial. I genuinely think it’s just the director telling a funny story. I say that because when the ad came out, in 2017, not all media was seeking some sort of angle. Yes, it was starting but there was still wiggle room for people to make stories without agendas. The other reason I say it is because, to me, it feels like Japanese media (possibly other parts of Asia, too? 🤔) is very different from American media. Sexual preference, gender, and political slant don’t seem to pervade mainstream discussions, media & movies to nearly the extent that they do in the US. It’s part of the reason I feel at peace here…not having to hear people bicker over all of that stuff is kinda nice. Whaaaat?!? Traditional? It’s traditional to leave your husband-to-be at the altar? ChiChan was about to leave her fiancé for Long Long Man…first!! But Long Man turned the tables on her, which to me…felt like the director creating funny/weird sense of justice. 😂 I heard it’s an 11-part series. If so, I’ll find the others, too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, as always I appreciate it! 🤜 🤛

@@tenken4life I guess so, but at the same time it did look like Long Man liked Her more than Tooru San, I feel like they changed it last minute because they where trying to make it funnier on purpose, but in reality it felt more like their was Chemistry between him & ChiChan.

@@TheJapanGuy I guess so... & wow I never knew that/ thought about it that way before, thanks for your insight, I knew that their was a Small LGBTQ Community in Japan, & also some Pride Marches in places like Tokyo & Osaka, just that I always thought that that sort of Decadent lifestyle had sort of "taking root" in Japan alot more in recent times, it's nice to see & hear ur take on things & that Japanese People seem to be handling things well & It's not often talked about or promoted but more a private matter, that's one of the reasons I think I want to live there myself, I like the fact that people can be themselves but lifestyles aren't so heavily promoted & forced on the people almost as if u can't see, watch or hear anything without it being constantly fed to you all over the place @ any given turn or opportunity u know? & I get what ur saying but I mean "Traditional" in the Sense that She wanted to save Her 1st Kiss for Tooru Chan, & historically I'm pretty sure that's how the World did used to be, only today we've changed so much that even going all the way, (Let alone to 1st or 2nd Base), b4 Marriage has become the norm, but I doubt if people where just giving Out kisses let alone having Sex before Marriage anywhere near as much as we see people doing these things today. & Oh Ok ic ic, so that wasn't even all of them? 11 Parts? Wow that's alot but I wouldn't mind seeing all of them for sure! It'd be nice to see u upload another video if ur able to find them all? & Again thanks for ur Comment Donald I love ur Video's & it's nice to see u more Active these day's, I'll Continue to give my feedback on them, just as long as the Content Comes Up, Cheers! 🤔🍺👍
