Last year on February 2nd, our friend the Jacka was taken from us. a devoted father, a devout muslim and a bay area legend, his passing was a huge loss for the Bay Area community and for music as a whole.
But even though his physical form is gone, his memory and his legacy live on stronger than ever. His music is still slapped on the daily throughout the Bay Area & the rest of the world, and his influence is obvious in countless songs & albums from mainstream and underground artists.
To commemorate the life of someone so special, we interviewed some of the people closest to him, and released footage every day for the whole month.
Via @EmDubious (Matt Werner): This is by far the most meaningful campaign I've ever done. I can honestly say that from the interviews we've released, the footage that is still in the vaults, and my personal experience, the Jacka was an incredible human being who's impact went far beyond music. We really miss you fam, and I still can't process the fact that you're actually gone. I'm so glad that Thizzler has the platform & the resources to do this tribute to you, but I really wish that you were just still here. But we're going to keep it lit for you forever. Jack History Month is going to be an institution and we'll never let them forget you.

Had the honor of meeting the jack in 2014 after his show at brick and mortar in SF. I can honestly say that everything said about him in this vid is 100% accurate. I asked him for a photo and he gladly took it wit me after cracking a few jokes. I thanked him for the dope performance and the flick and he returned the love right back. Real humble brother and I'm blessed I was able to be in the presence of greatness that night. We miss you King JACK.

much respect thizzler on the roof, watched all the Jacka stories this month, all too often the guy im listening to dies, and hes forgotten about quickly and forever, im glad theres folk out there whos not prepared to let that happen with the JA, the guy was something else, first heard of him in the UK jail system in 2004 on some Cbo tracks and been a listener ever since, i dont listen to any bullshit, no radio no mainstream at all, so this was the only guy with the figaz and a few others who gave me something to listen to and reflect on for over a decade, i dont know ehat my mind would be if id of hsd to listen to the radio for this last 10 years, his name rings bells throughout all the bricks,bars and pennetentiaries, all this without any proper marketing machine behind him, its legendary, the people of this world will speak of him for a long time, especially if channels like thizzler stick with it and always do the jack history month, even if it doesnt get those million views that modern companies aim for, the real people see you and see what you are doing, stick with it, #LongLiveTheJA #KingJacka

The Jacka lives on through his music. Forever. I was going through some hard times in Japan at the time he died. His music was and is a soundtrack to my life in the good times and bad times.
