AA definitely is the most dense with budding talent. Who knows which level any of the guys featured on the channel would’ve spent most of their season this year...but 100% of them say AA. That’s why. A ball is a knock and AAA is almost considered JV or rehab, or 1 step from the exit door. Think of AA like the freshman team at the best high schools in the country where they simple don’t promote the frosh until the playoffs. The freshman squads are typically packed with more budding talent than JV, but the JV guys often have more high velo reps, but typically lower ceilings.

Will you should have visited Bat Digest Brian with these bats to get an actual measured swing weight. Great cross over. What do you mean by sweet spot? Since wood bats have no hoop mode compression, the barrel performance should more constant along the length unlike aluminum. The center percussion will be influenced with with turn shape but I suspect the difference is. more the hitters reaction then bat performance.

Mountains in the background? And pro grass? Love the new venues! Regarding wood bats, and you guys said in the Demarini wood bat clip, I do think kids swing wood bats too early in some cases (& definitely too heavy of a wood bat). Any idea for a 13U player on what type of wood to swing? Does American Batsmith offer anything for this age? I've yet to check their site but will be heading there here ins a few.

Nice fact to keep in mind. Cupped bats start with a more dense/heavier wood billet to "cup down" to the weight requested. This is a plus over a non-cupped bat.

Kind of a tough comparison because their two totally different bar shapes and weighted differently. The c271 probably has a smaller sweet spot but a very definite one when you get it right. The 243 in my experience has a little less definite sweet spot but it’s a bigger sweet spot

So you never hit the ball that far usually when you're back in Oregon. Is it primarily due to the elevation you're at in Utah or are those bats seriously that good? I've hit only composite wood in the five years I've played in the senior wood bat league. But I feel comfortable enough that next year I want to switch to real wood. There are about half a dozen wood bat manufacturers I want to try out. Should I add American Batsmith to my list?
