he not that good of an on ball defender, u niggas see a couple of blocks and start calling ppl generational, he’s actually terrible at on ball defense he gets beat of the dribble alot that’s why it’s so many chase downs but that won’t be easy in the league

As far as a rim protector he is great but Edgecombe was blowing by him consistently like he wasn't even their. Help defense makes it look like that. His lateral movement needs a lot of improvement because he is not going to be able to guard athletic 3's and 4's in the league.

One of the best high school games I’ve seen in a very long time that MontVerde team is nearly flawless, and they are leaps and bounds better than everyone else. A lot of skills a lot of d1 talent

Cooper Flagg had the most points, rebounds and blocks in this game out of everybody whilst playing elite defense and being 1-2 yrs younger than everyone else. Vj Edgecomb is still a top 3 player in his class though and definitely very elite.

It's not lateral movement it's angles from bad positioning, he needs to learn to cut off the lanes correctly. Also, his big men are not good interior defenders which won't happen on the higher levels.

At this point he is not quick enough to get in front of guys who are quick off the dribble luckily he is long enough to be able to recover in some cases and block the shot but right now he looks like curry or doncic when guarding away from the rim.

I totally agree. There is no way anyone can compete with them. They need to put some kind of rules in place to stop that because it seems to be the same teams going back and forth for the number 1 spot for the last 10 years or so .
