It sounds like an episode straight out of Criminal Minds. The FBI’s Highway Serial Killers initiative hunts for long-haul truckers behind at least 850 murders of mostly female sex trafficking victims along our nation’s highways.
Today’s guest is Frank Figliuzzi. Frank was the FBI’s Assistant Director over Counterintelligence. He served 25 years as an FBI Special Agent in assignments across the country. As the head of all espionage investigations, Frank frequently briefed the White House, the DNI, and the Attorney General. For the past seven years, Frank has been a national security analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. He’s the author of a national bestseller, The FBI Way: Inside the Bureau's Code of Excellence, and now Long Haul: Hunting the Highway Serial Killers.

I plan to read the book! Back in 1983 2 friends & I stopped at a large truck stop in Jackson, MS to eat. Afterwards we drove around the huge truck parking area & were horrified by the incredible numbers of prostitutes literally swinging themselves up into the trucks! It sickened us & except for gas fill-up's while traveling I've avoided truck stops ever since! Besides all the obvious dangers I've wondered how many of these drivers brought home diseases to their spouses...😮
FBI has unbelievable stress , and I think they are NOT paid enough, just like law enforcement and hospital staff RCP's RNs...But those who manage "us", bark demands, follow protocols with no staff to even come close to achieving it Thank goodness for the work done by Frank in this book, so important for we the people need to know.....Thank you to all truckers who bring all the things in our lives.
This guy is providing a great service to our country by shinning a light on this problem. Truckers are necessary and should be treated with more respect, but the fact the trucking industry, the way its currently set up, is literally breading killers, tells me it needs a complete overhaul and this man is valiantly attempting to kickstart that effort. Not to mention, the "food" at truck-stops is literally overpriced poison.
This is incredibly scary. I'm wondering if trucker's should be made to give a DNA sample when they get their CDL. ? That's a lot of victims. It would be worth the "inconvenience".
This is all extremely fascinating. I feel like I learned a lot from this.

He makes truckers sound like horrible people. My father,husband, nephew, and several of my brother in laws are or have been drivers. For them i resent the way civilians will be encouraged to fear the drivers and the trucks!
