I am totally envious about the no spin technique. I started out with no spin but did not progress very far. However it was _very_useful anyway as it taught me to spin the knife slowly. I get from 3-5m per half rotation, even 6m if it is a single half rotation. From then you on count half rotations. It's actually fun to judge the distance, then decide on the number of half rotations and how fast they have to be (there are various ways in which you can control the speed of the spin, especially if the knife is asymmetric). I advice against a technique where the knife spins very fast. That will make it random very quickly. Longest throw about 14m, two full rotations.

Yo @Adam Celadin Thanks for the vid man. Needed some advice in regards to purchasing throwing knives Most of my throwing knives are asymmetrical, for instance I have a set of Top Dogs as well as a set of Raven III. I'm a journey man in the martial art of armed combat and have recently been looking into practical applications of no reload throwing in terms of armed combat. As great as the previous knives I mentioned are, its a bit inconvenient in certain situations as well as inconvenient in "quick draw" throwing and after using a friends set of symmetrical rubber throwing knives I found those to be more convenient. Where I need help is I'm looking at some knives, but don't know what to get. Seeing you test some of them, I wanted to know what you would recommend. I'm stuck in choosing between the Wulfund's Veangence, Arrow, and Muninn as well as AceJet's Stinger.

So it seems to me like the 60ft max throwing distance for daggers in D&D 5e is a bit generous. 50ft should probably be the limit at least for most classes/subclasses unless you take a Feat or something. But this does make 30 seem very reasonable. (Turns out the "minimum" is actually 20ft. Which obviously is a bit ridiculous, to some extent... but also, the class that most often throws daggers is also using them as their main weapon, and if you're within 20ft, do you really want to disarm yourself? It'd be another thing entirely if you have a sword in one hand and throw a dagger with your other... but whatever)

Longest no spin? Well, I focus more on 1.) consistency (so I can do the throw each time I try) and 2.) Power (so the throw always has close to maximum force and will stick even in harder targets) - BOTH (consistency and powerful) I can only achieve (with no spin!) up to 6 or perhaps 7 meters, at 8 meters the throws get much less powerful and for sticking a knife at all with no spin from 9 meters a lot of luck is necessary. But hey, important is: I enjoy throwing soo much, and I get better each day I go out throwing knives! 😊

Makes me wonder what the maximum distance is for the method of throwing I learned with shuriken. I don't know of any battlefield situations where they threw knives. Stones, javelins, axes even but not knives. Shields would negate all the effectiveness of a thrown knife in terms of battlefield situations and knives that were not simple all purpose knives were too expensive to throw around.
