The gear on that route is bomber. It’s the placing the gear on lead that makes it E5.

Mega finish! Good use of belly flop/knee - good effort for pushing it to the ragged edge!

As you see at the start of the video, I fell on my first attempt. The video continues with the second, ground up attempt.

Wanky comment? Sometimes you don't have time to strip and replace the gear.

Why pinkpoint? not impressive. Having to carry the weight of pro on your harness and the time it takes to place gear all make it harder and are part of trad.

I didn't have time to set up a top rope to strip the gear before we had to drive back to Brighton, so I went for the ground up ascent. I too would have much rather not screwed up the top on my first go...

I dont believe its a true climb unless its climbed barefoot and with a 20kg dumb bell clenched between your butt cheeks...thats just my personal opinion though

As long as you're honest about what style you climbed it in it doesn't matter. Impressive send regardless!

"Not impressive" lol. Did you see the fight he gave at the end? That is impressive no matter the style. Have you tried the route? Even climbing it on top rope is an impressive achievement.
