LONDON TRANSPORT RF395 Restoration

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Possibly the worst condition RF you are ever likely to see restored, every known issue ever associated with an unrestored RF could be found here, in fact, the only redeeming feature of this bus was that it had survived its entire operational life as an original doorless type.
Although there is no conclusive record of a strike at Metro-Cammell during 1952 the "STRIKE 1952" and hammer-&-sickle graffiti we uncovered during the restoration does suggest a certain amount of employee discontent was detectable at the time this RF was being built.
Another interesting and unexpected find on this RF was a live (blank) .303 rifle bullet buried within the front bodywork.

In the 70's and 80's there was one of these parked down the eastern ramp at Lee station (Lewisham), was emblazoned as a stunt bus as I used to help out ol' Ken at Kickstart Motorcycles (just recently passed on if ppl remember him) opposite and we all wondered who owned this old beastie that stood there for years, looked stunning in black and dark colours too. I remember riding these as Red Arrows going into work with me mum as a nipper and they were seen quite often in places like Bromley North for such routes as the B1 and was always charmed seeing these parked up next to a Leyland National or a RT or RM.

Hi Louis Pierre No not Park Royal, as you probably know the chassis was built by AEC but the body was built by "METROPOLITAN - CAMMEL, CARRIAGE & WAGON CO. LTD."
