I have the same bike and the same sore arse problem after a couple of hours riding it! Going to look at getting some sort of pad to see if that helps

Oh wow, I found this clip by accident and I'm glad I did. In 2021 I drove from Southampton to Cornwall on Yamaha MT-125, so pretty much the same trip. I did it with my wife, who rode Honda CBF-125, believe it not. But that's not much of a challenge. Last two years we did a trip around Poland, and I rode a TZR-50 and Honda HM-50. 3000 miles, a month long trip, more or less. We did it. But 2-stroke 50ccm motorcycles did not take it well. The best small motorcycle for such long trips I even wrode that was Aprilia SR-50. It's the only one 50 that never got any fault to the very end (until it was eventually stolen in Warsaw). So riding MT-125 around UK is less than a challenge that it seems, as those modern machines are much much more reliable then old ones. My first long trip ever was on a Simson S-50 Enduro, which was so badly designed you wouldn't believe it. I couldn't go a 100 kilometers before the spark plug needed cleaning. It constantly died on neutral, I had to keep the throttle open a bit when standing on lights. And I still did it. So after that I just love modern 125s! Yamaha MT-125 is a spectacular machine. No limit for trips, really. For some reason everybody says light bikes are for young people and learners. Well, I'm 45 and I've riding more than 20 years, so am I young or a learner? Mad, possibly. Still I would go around the world on MT-125 (if someone payed for it). It just needs some maintenance on the road, but so what? This year we are riding to Gibraltar, around Europe and back to England on a MT-125. Three months trip. Anybody wanna join on a 125?

What amazing stories! Us young people take for granted what it means to own technology that is refined and perfect. You must have learned so much about motorcycle maintenance. Its nice to take it easy on a 125,, not rush anywhere. I'd join you if I had my A1 or A2. Best of luck, though, !!

I know this video is old but I am bout to buy a MT125 and I am wondering did you have any problems with wind when travelling since it doesn't have a windshield like r125 does?

I love watching riders go on long journeys on their 125s. An air seat pad is a brilliant solution that I’ve been using for over a year. £18 or so on eBay. Check it out. Worth a shot.

Will definitely invest in such a product! did you buy a particular brand or just a generic chineese ebay jobbie?

125cc the eBay item number for the one I bought is: 402290670165 Straps go under the seat and have metal clips that clasp into the air cushion. Used it on my cbf125 because, as you know, the vibration in that is darn right illegal for nuts on long journeys. The difference is night and day. And it’s only £17. Which is worth it in my opinion, all day long.

Probably a better idea on the MT125 than a CB125F, moar faster and all... That still doesn't stop me taking trips from Sussex to the midlands, mind 😉, I just wish going 50+ didn't put so much stress on the poor thing

Your back and arse issues are not just the seat. The bars on the MT are too far forward for cruising and the pegs are too far backwards and high. That forces your weight forward on the seat (I'm sure you've noticed you are tending to slide forward) and making your knees over-bend. That takes the weight off where it should be (the balls of your feet) and you are straining to resist the forward slide. That creates back ache and bum ache as well as wrist ache and creates tension everywhere. If you could move the pegs forward and the bars back you would be much more comfortable.

Yeah didn't think of that. One is placed at the front of the seat at high speed. Surely you'd want to be leant over by forward bars to combat the wind blast on a naked? Can't wait to try other bikes in the future...

@@125ccbiker9 Yes that's right, but only at high enough speeds where the wind really strongly pushes you back. But a 125 cannot reach such speeds (and on public roads nor should powerful bikes either - legally) so there is no need for the bars to be either low or too far forward, and nor does the seat need to slide you forward. Those positions are only relevant to very fast (racing/track) bikes. On a 125 it is therefore a fashion thing, but it is a pity because all it does is make riders uncomfortable. Sorry about the replies to all 3 of your videos on this subject (LOL!). I like your style of presentation which is why I am posting

Which 125cc would be the most comfortable for these kind of (longer) journeys?
