Before you get offended, please actually read the whole thing. The London is about “giving away your dominance” like where is the break through for the attack???? I will use an analogy, you could have a machine gun with lots of ammo, but if the gun is blocked, and the bullets won’t come out. Then no matter how strong it is, it’s USELESS Okay okay, I get that you do have some sort of dominance in the london “because later, you can make an attack” or “later when your opponent gets aggressive you can use his momentum against him” but there is an issue, why attack later?? There is no advantage to it, why save your restaurant meal if you have get the meal everyday? It will just get cold later. JUST LIKE HOW IF YOU DOTN TAKE ADVANTAGE EARLY, YOUR CHANCES DROP UNLESS YOUR OPPONENT IS DUMB. If you use the London system except the pawn is not on c3 but c4, WHERE IT ACTUALLY ATTACKS SOMETHING, your position is still ROCK SOLID, your pieces are still ACTIVELY PLACED annnnd you have a machine gun that actually WORKS UNLIKE THE LONDON, WHICH IS A BLOCKED GUN. The London is solid and active but it makes no sense to hand over the “action” to the opponent. If you can’t deal with it fine, learn. It’s not hard and it’s the point of chess. Giving away your own opportunity just gives your opponent chances, and why leave things up to them when you can take charge? Why let the weather decide if you can go out today or not, YOU HAVE TO TAKE CHARGE IN LIFE AND CHESS, JUST BECAUSE ITS RAINING DOESNT MEAN YOU CANT GO OUT TO GET ICE CREAM, GO GRAB AN UMBRELLA, WHY LET EXTERNAL SOURCES DETERMINE YOU WHEN YOU CAN DETERMINE IT YOURSELF? FINE, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DO IT BEST, SO LEARN AT LEAST. THERE IS NO ADVANATAGE TO NOT ADDING ONE EXTRA IDEA TO THE LONDON. C4, INSTEAD OF C3, TAKE HOLD OF YOUR LONDON, DONT MAKE YOUR MACHINE GUN OBSOLTE. OPEN THE GUN SO THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY FIRE

I finally chose the London System as one I feel most comfortable with but couldn't figure what to do when my opponent does the unexpected. These illustrations are so helpful (and entertaining) and easy for me to grasp. Now I see why I move the pieces where they should go and what the point is. Once I have this video down I look forward to the middle game instructions. I look forward to seeing many more in these easy-to-understand style.

too me it’s too simple, but it has lack of flaws, but at higher levels u need more complex openings, mostly because u want to overpower ur opponent in the middle game, since it’s easier to combat than an opening such as the catalan. I don’t hate it, but it doesn’t have an actual good, solid, diverse plan. Just too repetitive, and easy to combat.

OPEN THE GUN SO THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY FIRE@@MadRaptor734

I am a 1050 rated idiot who you shouldn't listen to. So, anyway: If d4 e5, then take. Just take. Everything is in chaos and this is our life now. If d4 and c5, advance one square. Again, everything is chaos. Okay, so what if e5 a little later? If: d4 d5, bf4 f6, e3 kc6, c3 e5? We are supposed to rock the Bishop back apparently. They loke to go h5 to set up h4. We have to go h3 to give the Bishop another square to bck up to, but we are okay and they have wonky pawns.

Cheers man, you get basic ideas to noobs like me extremely good and in really fun way. Have tried different videos, but at least for London, this is by far the best - no irrelevant info (should be impossible for funny video) and easily understandable. Listened for explanations from master level guys, wasn't sure those were even about chess.

This video was much needed as, even if learning opening theory is very important for a beginner and playing a system can incentive lazyness or if this opening isn't what you usually play, we have to take in consideration that not everybody has time to spend on learning every possible variation of his repertoire, and as you said the problem for beginners is the middlegame. Plus knowing the plan of a london system player will surely help against it. The only thing I would criticize on is the fact that the video lack direct suggestions for black players. It would have been interesting to see some counterattack ideas for a KID player (following the past video on beginners repertoire), but the london system is know to be very solid so maybe everything is up to circumstances and this video can't predict it all
