Julian, Michael Stewart here. Johannesburg, South Africa. I absolutely love your videos. If I may bold enough to comment on the acronym "T.I.P". The story I was told by a restauranteur some years ago is this: It stands for Towards Improved Performance. It was paid ahead of the meals to ensure that the "Improved Performance" continued throughout the evening or lunch or whatever the function was. One Performance provider who received a substantial sum ahead of the evening, and decided it was a good idea to make off with his fortune. Needless to say, since that day it has been paid after the event. I'm sure this story would fit into the Myth or Legend genre.
This has become my 'go to' daily viewing.
As an Irishman that used to live in London..I love these videos!
Never stop making videos Joolz :)

You can find an anchor on a parish boundary stone because the anchor is an old Christian symbol. It can be found on Christian grave stones at least as far back as the 2nd century. You can buy necklaces where you have three symbols - the cross, the anchor and the dove - standing for faith, hope and charity.

And the symbol for St Clement as well. Wasn’t he martyred by drowning attached to an anchor?
Mr. McDonnell, please refrain from assuming we don't care. Everyone who has an interest is already familiar with the usual information on the great city of London. I have subscribed to your channel because of the trivia and minutiae that sets you apart from all others. I'm confident that many others feel the same. Thank you for the entertainment. Would greatly enjoy an in depth tour of Tower Hill.

Ha ha...well, I need a catch phrase so perhaps that can be mine! I know you care really. Tower Hill? Hmm...I've covered some of it in various videos (with some errors) but I guess I could do a compilation.

I just wanted to say that you definitely opened my eyes to London history. I'm just one of the many lonely women in the USA stuck inside due to covid-19 wondering what else is out there. I am definitely not familiar with all the different areas in England or even the U.K. as a whole but I do love watching your videos. I feel like my mind has been opened up more in the last week watching your videos than in my entire life. Please keep doing what you do.
For all my fellow Americans; Sir William Marshall is considered the greatest knight who ever lived. His life is truly incredible. I wish I would've seen this when I was in London.
So much history and we just walk on by

"I've mentioned this in my other video" this quote is fast becoming as unique to Joolz as his hat
It amazes me how Joolz remembers all this history.
Joolz was so charming and witty when the woman asked what he was doing. Since I’ve been living in the UK, I’ve gained an appreciation for British humor. It is so refreshing and lovely.
Don't know if anybody have said anything, but the crossed legs on the effigies ment that the deceased had gone to the Holy Land.

Would love to see Old Bailey courthouse if you ever pass by. I have family criminal history there, that’s where my family was banished to the States for grand larceny of 1 mahogany tea chest and 1 looking glass that he stole from Queen St. Lincoln-Fields Inn. Cheers. Love your work.
As someone who is just about to qualify as a Lawyer in London, I thank you so much for an excellent guide to what will be my new home, as well as some lovely nuggets of knowledge I can share to my colleagues! Class as always!
Love your channel so awesome to learn the history of London 😊 my granddad worked at the law courts of justice he was the legal secretary to sir justice Shaw. I've been inside the court as a kid it's beautiful inside the building.
Thoroughly enjoyed this
Used to drink in The Seven Stars in the 80's..great pub!! Great video, Jules!
I think the Knights symbol of crossing the legs was to show that the knight had severed in the Crusades.
One pub I've never heard of and one I love!

What a lot of favourite pubs!
Knights Templar, Edgar Wallace & I’ve gotta lovely bunch of coconuts 👌
I remember walking along Fleet St on my last day in London 3 weeks ago and seeing the Twinings shop and numerous pubs. It seems that just about everywhere I went there was another pub! London was great, even if hot in August, but I'm looking forward to another visit sometime!

It's always interesting to watch what's going on in the background too
Great video, one of the most "secret" and often missed parts of central London. The only thing I missed was "There stands me wife, the idol of me life singing..."
My favourite youtube channel. I saw some of these sites on my walk. I learn so much, and yes it makes me fancy a pint too. Cheers

Gosh it's expensive to buy the legal gear for court. I loved the fact that the judge can 'not hear you' if you don't have your wig on. You have wonderful information. I love watching your videos
As always interestingly brillient.
So interesting! Thank you!
My new favourite channel! I went to King's College on Strand but I never noticed any statues or any historical places around there. I'll definitely go back after Covid is over!

My great-grannie was born and raised in Clement Lane. I suspect it was a touch less well-to-do in the 1850s. That area was known as "Liberty of the Rolls", apparently.
"Do you know how to read?"- Awesome! Love your videos!!
Try and stay out of the dock. Thanks Joolz enjoyed that!

I am here because of lockdown. I miss my pubs 😢
Lol "Who told that..."I read it, you know how to read." So many times I have that thought.
As a result in contemplation of this, your most recent brilliant videography of London, we are most seriously tempted to sojourn again to your lovely city as in our previous six visitations it appears we have overlooked in our ignorance some of the enticing locations you highlighted. Although the Temple Church has been found locked to us , despite its publicized hours open, we are heartened to try again as if we find it closed we can seek solace in the Edgar Wallace now that you have revealed ut to us. Wonderful video Joolz!

Ha ha! I agree, most Elizabethan. The church might be closed at weekends and that goes for the Edgar Wallace too. They don't get much custom on weekends as the lawyers aren't there so they close I believe.

Joolz - could you do something along the Thames estuary and all the history of the docks and the significance of all the remains that are there today (may be it’ll have to be a joolz bike ride rather than walk / amble - depending on how far you go and how recent a history tour you can do). I really like your vids. Cheers

I believe the Jedi Knights from Star Wars was based on the Templar knights, their story, from the heights of conquest and success to their eventual downfall is reflected in the Star Wars story - the Templars were the Jedi and the Pope and King of France were Emperor Palpatine and Anakin Skywalker
