London Art Fair 2024: Show Guide Highlights
A Celebration of Global Art and Innovation:
This year's London Art Fair proudly welcomes an outstanding array of galleries. Our lineup features exceptional Modern British art and an ever-expanding roster of contemporary and international galleries. With representation spanning from Japan to Sweden, and Lithuania to Turkey and South Korea, the Fair offers a unique and diverse art experience.
Decade of Partnership with Charleston
Celebrating its 10th year, our Museum Partnership with Charleston is a highlight of the Fair. Charleston, nestled in the South Downs National Park, was the modernist haven for Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. This artistic epicenter for the Bloomsbury Group fostered radical ideas in art and society. At the Fair, Charleston will showcase works by Bloomsbury artists and launch the "50 for 50" campaign - a quest to find 50 significant Bloomsbury paintings for their 50th anniversary in 2030.
Platform 2024 - A Tribute to Queer Love and Life
Inspired by our partnership with Charleston, the 2024 Platform section, curated by Gemma Rolls-Bentley, is titled "A Million Candles, Illuminating Queer Love and Life". Named after Virginia Woolf's "Orlando", this exhibition honors the resilience and beauty of queer love, especially in challenging times. It's a powerful reflection on LGBTQIA+ life, history, and creativity.
Photo50 Exhibition - Grafting: The Land and the Artist
This year's Photo50, curated by Revolv Collective, delves into "Grafting: The Land and the Artist". This thematic showcase focuses on the interplay of labor and land, featuring works by emerging and mid-career artists. It’s a deep exploration of the land's narrative through an expanded photographic lens.
Encounters Section: A Convergence of Global Art
Returning for its second year, the Encounters section, curated by Pryle Behrman, supports emerging and international galleries. This year, Encounters pushes boundaries with over 20 galleries that challenge mainstream narratives, offering a fresh and diverse artistic perspective.
Educational Opportunities
The Fair isn't just an exhibition; it's a learning experience. Our program of talks, discussions, and tours offers engaging and educational insights into the art world. These sessions are complimentary for our visitors and can be found detailed on pages 48 to 52 of this guide.
Acknowledgments
Our heartfelt thanks go to our sponsors, partners, and the Fair Committee for their invaluable support and expertise. Their contributions have been instrumental in shaping this year's event.
A Journey of Artistic Discovery Awaits
We invite you to immerse yourself in the world of art at London Art Fair 2024. Explore, engage, and be inspired.

I’m sorry but the music is too loud. I don’t see the point of music at all, but if you need it then it must be in the background and not overpowering.

Overall a great overview of the show. I’d suggest varying the sound level of the music which becomes monotonous. Softer level for the interviews and up during visual tours for instance.😊

Jason Craighead is literally duplicating Cy Twombly’s work. It’s not even an adaptation; it’s the exact same style, symbolism, mark making and attempts to match his colouration. Twombly made profoundly thoughtful paintings with a rich history and heritage behind them, it is canonical work. How is it possible to get gallery representation for work that is so blatantly copying another artist. The suggestion that someone might be getting something from America is more than apt, you would indeed be getting something, an appalling Cy Twombly rip-off.
