I was just about to comment: You know it is not a real Peruvian Food Tour when you know they only visit places around Miraflores (kind of a luxury/tourist place in Lima). Then I thought: The great thing about Peru is that you can have amazing food anywhere. Probably, they didn't know anyone to take them to more traditional places or they were in a tide schedule. How knows? The fact is that they had a great time. For us, food is more than just food. It is about tradition, places, experiences, and flavors. Great video guys!

Honking in Lima is a way to talk to other drivers and letting them know you´re about to pass them

i need to try Peruvian food in Peru because i had it here in USA but it was not anything out of this world also reminded me of Chinese food.

You did a good job! And you got the Bridge of Sighs more or less to yourself. Good video! Next time, the place to go for your ceviche (and causa etc) is Mi Barrunto in La Victoria, take an uber there and back though.

Thank you for visiting us, but the big mistake of all foreign tourists, who think that Peru is just Machu Picchu, there are better places in our country than that. If you want to try Peruvian gastronomy, in Lima do not look for them in Miraflores, Barranco and San Isidro (If you miss the modernity of your country, it is good to visit these places. Lima has a total of 42 districts to visit.), those places are Americanized and the vast majority of exclusive restaurants make fusions of our dishes, which the vast majority of Peruvians have never tried and we don't even know about their existence. There are places in Lima where you can get the best ceviches and all the MARINE GASTRONOMY. Generally these places are near the sea (El Callao, Chorrillos, etc), as well as in the markets (where you always get the real food from the place you visit) and specific areas known by the vast majority of those who live in Lima, since the secret is that the fish and the ingredients are very fresh. !!!!!! The great mistake of tourists is to think that Lima is Miraflores, San Isidro and Barranco (they feel comfortable there because it looks like their country), and a great mistake of looking for our customs, culture, history and gastronomy in those places. Actually the fish of cebiche or ceviche its not cook by lemon juice, its cured. Lemon juice is add to the fish and served quick to avoid fish loose its consistency.

I am here in Peru and i am not impressed by their food here I liked the Peruvian food in the States. The people in most restaurants are not friendly and their restrictions are ridiculous here I am trying to leave but they making it so difficult after getting positive COVID test, I am so desperate to leave but I am stuck in Lima :(

I can definitely say that it's true. I'm Peruvian and I know the food is delicious but not every restaurant cooks like that so I mostly only like the way my family cooks. It's really hard to come to a foreign country in the middle of pandemic, I would've recommended you to come here next year because right now with our economic crisis and the virus, people are not in the mood of being very friendly, but not all Peruvians are like that. It's just the bad timing and the zone in which you're staying in the meantime. Expensive zones tend to have mean people, but in poor zones everyone welcomes you even if you don't have money. Sorry for your bad experience. Take care and stay healthy 💪🏻♥️
