I recently bought a PS version G923 for ACC, AC, and F1 on PC. It looks, feel, and works great aside from the bugs in F1 2021, I'm over the moon with it. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get their first wheel. Anything lower end than this is just a waste of money and you'll want to upgrade immediately anyway. EDIT: F1 bugs are fixed, wheel now works perfectly across the games I play Edit: I gave it to a friend and went to a DD system from Moza. I suggest you skip Logitech these days

@@liamcdm3689 I believe my issues are specific to the G923, but first the wheel wasn't recognized at all unless I used a specific older version of G Hub, but then with the latest F1 patch, my wheel has no force feedback at all in game no matter what version of G Hub I use. Really frustrating

@@liamcdm3689 Maybe google a bit. Sim gear can have quirks. Sometimes it's not even related to the sim hardware or drivers but some other issue with your specific PC hardware or current win install. Console it should work fine out of the box. I had some issues with my TH8A shifter at some point (driver issue). A CSW 2.5 base freaked out within seconds of being on track and full FFB janked to one side (after some trying, turned out I had a lot of usb devices connected and had to stick it in a different port) Currently new CSL DD won't recognize the H-pattern mode on my SQ 1.5 shifter. More ppl seem to have this issue, haven't tried the hacky solution yet. Hope Fanatec will fix this soon. On 1st fresh driver install of CSL DD the FFB was very weak. Now after another re-install it's all fine. CSL DD is new so have to use a CSW 2.5 compatibility mode in a lot of games (early adopter things)

I recently got the G923 as my entry wheel into the sim world. Currently paired with the shifter that i adapted my shift knob from my old STi. I was skeptical at first and planned on getting the t300 but overall would have been twice the cost for the shifter and pedal upgrade. Not to mention where I live they're currently out of stock online as well. Pretty happy and maybe after my best buy warranty expires on the G923 I'll have enough to jump to the Fanatec or even a thrustmaster

I swapped my T3PA's (which were already an upgrade over the default for the standard T300) at the earliest opportunity. The TM H shifter is a little expensive though, but very decent. (and for the latest model the swapping between H and sequential is a pain) The Logitech one is usable.

Great vid. For myself personally I'm a driving sim guy first, maybe I'll get into racing sims in the future. I'd choose the Thrustmaster T248 simply for the amount of buttons it has (plus I love the look of it). All of those buttons on the wheel means i dont have to reach over to my keyboard for half my bindings. Great for truck driving sims! I picked up a T150 locally about a week back and I love it, if I can sell it back for the price I paid I'll definitely swoop up a T248

The T300RS comes with absolutely DOGSHIT pedals. If you go that route you really need to get the ≈$450 T300RS GT, which gets expensive enough that you should really just get Fanatec's full blown ≈5nm direct drive $400 (≈$510 w/ tax + shipping or ≈$540 w/ a desk mount) "CSL DD Ready2Race bundle" anyways. 🤷 ESPECIALLY as the CSL DD can be upgraded to ≈8nm with just a ≈$60/$100-150 (3rd party/1st party) power supply upgrade! The ≈4-4.5nm belt-drive T300 simply doesn't even come FUCKING CLOSE to even the ≈5nm base spec CSL DD, let ALONE the full out ≈8nm one!

The only thing the T300 has going for it over the T248 is a bit stronger motor as well as being fully belt-driven instead of the hybrid approach in T248; HOWEVER, from a reliability standpoint, I would go with the latter wheel as the T300 may require you to completely throw out the built-in power supply as in the stock wheels they are prone to overheating & just dying. The other point against the T300 is that it's older than the T248, which means that it may not be supported in newer titles

How about the G29 vs T248, I'm contemplating whether to get as G29+shifter or the T248 without shifter because they're pretty similar in price, as for g923 there isn't one in my country so far so I only have these 2 as my only option, and also the T300 because it's just a $20more expensive than the G29 with shifter

I got the G29 a little over a year ago. Mostly happy with it my only genuine complaint is the brake pedal. There's a hard rubber stop about halfway through the pedal travel, which means that under heavy braking, your input is not really accurate. I've been considering swapping the clutch spring over into the brake pedal since I don't play any games that really use clutch.

Picking a wheel just because it looks and feels nice in the hands but performs SIGNIFICANTLY worse as a "force feedback wheel" is absolutely fucking idiotic! 🤣 The T248 is literally almost TWICE AS POWERFUL, while also being much smoother & more detailed/accurate thanks to its gear + belt hybrid drive motor vs the usually even more expensive G923's ≈2nm grindy/gritty gear-only motor design that Logitech has been using since literally..... 2004!!! 😳🤯 Not only does the wheel base motor in the T248 absolutely KICK THE ABSOLUTE F*CKING SHIT out of the G923's, but Thrustmaster's T3PM pedals it includes are simply in another LEAGUE vs Logitech's!!! They use proper 100% wear-free & stupid fast/accurate magnetic Hall effect sensors unlike the shitty & guaranteed to eventually failed potentiometers in Logi's pedals AND are SIGNIFICANTLY more adjustable! Fuck, the T3PM's are arguably the best non-load cell pedals on the entire market. 🤷 Unless all you care about is how it feels in your hands/looks to your eyes, NOBODY should buy a G923 over a T248 if similarly priced. ≈2nm of dog-shit gear-only motor action just isn't enough man... That's like a girl edging you for an hour than saying F*CK YOU and leaving. It's just an aggregating tease. The ≈3.5nm of gear + belt hybrid T248 otoh is at least a solid PART of the real sim-racing enchilada! The one big problem with the T248 is it's loud as fuck paddle shifters, but thankfully those are actually stupid cheap & easy to fix with just some household rubber bands or even better some small O-rings like for quieting mechanical keyboards.

I’d love to see how long the T248 lasts without issues. My G27 has lasted since launch year, and is going strong to this day. My T300 has had multiple problems in the 4 years I had it until the position sensor failed and the wheel broke it self slamming into it’s end stop during a calibration. Due to other expensive hobbies, these are the two I’m cross-shopping. Being able to use some parts from my G27 as spares is a big plus side to me

Great vid and great editing. About two products at similar entry points so comparable and a valuable review. I think if you go for an entry level the LT is the better choice what it does it does really well, what it lack can be modded for cheap. The TM seems to want you to invest in their echo-system and by t he time you do that you are likely to stay with TM. By the time you get the TM248 rig where you want it you are $100.00 from a Fanatec DD2 with the upgraded brake load cell 3 pedal set and a McLaren GT3 steering wheel. If you want to upgrade the LT you can do the cheap mods and then I would buy a decent cockpit and then a Fanatec setup. The LT923 does not force you into buying into their echo-system because they do not have one (!). If this is just for a bit of fun why start to invest in a cheap rig? If this is to build a better and better SIMS rig you know you will swap for a better system in a few months or year. When you are ready to upgrade, what you "invested" in today will be worth nothing tomorrow. A DD wheel use to cost $1,000.00 minimum and now $300.00 will get you one. Cheers, a. Difficult question...My first wheel was the G29 which I used for near on 3 years and it was great, especially as a beginner. and it is extremely well built..never let me down though the Logitech software was always a bit iffy. The Thrustmaster T248 is something I have not tried but I did upgrade eventually to the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT and that was a huge improvement, much smoother, better detail for force feedback and much stronger on the force feedback. Might be worth checking out the price for the T300 as you can at least upgrade the T300 with better wheels and it could be around the same price as the T248...Would be interesting to hear what OC Racing has to say about this as he has tried all of them...Bottom line the G29 is still one of the best starter wheels especially when it is on sale but moving up to the T300 was a big improvement for me...

No wheel swapping... such a shame. I loved my T300RS (before moving on to a CSW 2.5 and now a CSL DD), had a standard wheel I stitched suede around myself (and some carbon fiber vinyl wrapping) and a Ferrari GT wheel with the rim swapped for an Acelith BMW DTM/GT3 style rim mod. The default tuned down look was also way better than these imo. I don't like these design, neither the GT DD PRO pack, with their more street 'supercars' look. Yes, the T300 is made for the PS4/5. The comparable model for Xbox is the TX wheel.

Hopefully they will put (removable) analog stick options on the wheels before GTA VI comes out.

Hi, would the thrustmaster t248 be a good upgrade from the g920? Or is it not worth the money?

I chose the G923 because of the two clamp system as opposed to the single clamp system of the thrustmaster, as I move the wheel a lot, and my last thrustmaster wheel clamp mechanism failed and would no longer wind on. These factors are often not looked at in reviews.

Honestly here used logitech costs twice what thrustmaster does. I got a tmx with t3pa pedals and t8hrs shifter for 250€ which wouldve only gotten me a used g923 or g920 with shifter. Considering the tmx has better ffb and the shifter is much more realistic I think thrustmaster is better for the price
