This is more than a song. Im gonna try to carry this message on through life, cause im 17 right now going into grade 12 and ya im tired of trying to live up to this "status" so that people will like me. Im maturing more mentally lately, and I now realise that mental and physical health is all that I need. Not money, cars like the other kids, expensive clothes, shit I cant afford. Im done letting my social anxiety get the best of me. Cause im getting better everyday and I hope anyone else who connects with this song like I do is aswell. I know no one will see this, but it felt good to type it out.

I feel like people forget that logic is a human being that feels, hurts and straight up gets anxious and depressed like a most of us do from time to time, Like anyone who suffers from depression some things can hurt more than people who may not have it. It definitely doesn’t help that Twitter loves to retweet the shit out of somethings. Overall just because you have money, power, Fame and love from your family and friends doesn’t mean the things people say don’t hurts.

“i remember making music alone, just a pen and a microphone, nowadays it’s hard to get in the zone... rap used to fill me with joy now it’s nothing but pain” logic and j cole have the same outlook on how the rap game evolved and their love for it throughout that evolution and that’s one of the reasons why bobby is retiring besides his baby boy, and that’s also the reason why cole is considering retiring. don’t you think this new gen of rap is putting too much pressure on the Og’s and the real rappers that it’s making them back out than have the courage to speak up?

Look, there's nothing wrong with music that has no substance or context or depth to it, bit there's something very wrong when you only mainly get that in mainstream only. There's too much Trap music with no real substance and room much biting and wave riding going on. I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of the many reasons why Top Dawg is holding on to Kendrick's next album and other artist on TDE

@@thedon0516 It is not a bad thing to like both but lets be real we the REAL PREFER the GOOD rappers who ACTUALLY rap. The turn up shit is JUST FOR THAT. Its all "In The Moment" music and thats all it ever will be. It gets forgotten or barely listened to after like 2 years tops. It sucks that all these LEGIT writers and wordsmiths (such as myself included) will never get the recognition we deserve or get only some and not even enough to be able to say that a legend will recognize us or give us props. To me I just want the recognition and respect that I can rap and that is it. I ain't about trying to get Grammy nominated or make it on Billboard like all these rappers nowadays do. Its sad. Truly sad how the artform has been tainted 🥺

I have been battling depression since the age of 12 and I fucked up really bad in the beginning of this year to the point where I forced myself to try and want better for myself. I hurt a lot of people in my life and lost a lot of people because of the actions I decided to do. I've always felt like nothing, I recently got a job at amazon as a delivery driver and I wanted to catch up on the album and played this song and cried for probably about an hour straight. It hits me so different, I am an artist too but I am slowly losing passion for music because of my depression. I feel like my problems are a burden to other people too. It's hard to want better for yourself when you haven't seen yourself as worth anything. Thank you for this song, I truly mean it.

This is one of the most heartfelt and real songs I’ve ever heard from Logic. So fucking beautiful. When logic had his speech at the end of the twitch session last night I couldn’t help myself from bursting in tears especially when he shouted out 6ix, Lenny, and C-Sick. It’s sad that this is really it but it’s been a beautiful journey. Love you Bobby ❤️

Here's the lyrics: [Verse] Yeah Depression, anxiety got ahold of me 'Cause people say they want the older me Well, I'm thirty, this the oldest me Behold it's me, the piece of shit that's not good enough Not black enough, not hood enough Not rich enough, not poor enough My heart has poured enough I been beaten and battered, my confidence shattered Been broken and tattered I'm constantly second guessin' if my profession is worth it on my mental state Writin' this from a dark place with humility and grace Peace, love, and positivity was my nativity But now when socials are in my vicinity I'm not runnin' from the internet My god, I was at his birth, I've been a vet Goin' berserk like Peter down at InterTech, yo, ayy It's deeper than the surface, I'm searchin' for purpose I'm tired of searchin' for logic and Googlin' purposes to read that I'm worthless I remember makin' music alone, just a pen and a microphone But nowadays it's hard to get in the zone Writin' rhymes was easy before the fame But now I'm constantly overthinkin' every line, it's a shame Rap used to fill me with joy, now it's nothin' but pain I'm stuck in the game, tryna get back from where I came I write this letter for the person who's listenin' Fed up and tired of people dismissin' 'em, I'm with you I been through what you been though No amount of money can take away the feelin' of insecurity Only though maturity can we overcome Feel like I've been overrun, feel like it's over, I'm done Whoever told you success gon' make you happy? You been lied to All of my dreams came true but I bleed and cry too Never been perfect, I failed everytime I tried to Feelin' hated and underappreciated Everytime I look in the mirror, I wonder, "Why you?" Shit, I'd love to end this on some positive shit Hit you with punchlines instead of some derogative shit But it's okay to be sad sometimes and tired of shit, I guess [Outro: Alan Watts] And people say, "Well you're just out for money" I say, "That's none of your business" You see, a lot of people don't feel happy Unless they have another thing beyond money, which is called status And status, to a very large extent in our economy consists in In having this thing, that thing, the other thing, and having a swimming pool A, uh, Ferrari, uh, some kind of clothes and uh, some kind of house And so on, and so on, and so on And we think, uh, we need all that Because we haven't asked ourselves whether that was what we really wanted They all think they gotta have this, they gotta have that And uh, they don't really want it If they sat back and considered, "Do I need all that? Is this trip really necessary?" They would come to the conclusion it wasn't, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

I’ve been a fan ever since the first Bobby Tarantino before 1-800, his music helped me through my dark times, helped me get through middle school with little to no friends and inspired me to create music. Logic will forever be the most underrated rapper and I can fight anybody on that he does 3 different styles of rap, wrote a successful book, and saved MILLIONS of lives when he made 1-800. I understand he wants to put his time into his child but I hope he knows the skill he has and the impact he has made in so many peoples lives and I wish him the best of luck with his child and his streaming.

This really hits home, I don't know why but listening to this just really hits my soul where I didn't want it too, I feel so useless and worthless at all times of the day I lost the one person who stook with me till we got separated... She stopped me from ending it all she stopped me from beating myself up and blaming all my past trama on myself she understands my situation she understands me I feel horrible and I don't want nothing in life but her I don't want no status I don't want money I don't want everyone to know my name or warship me or make me out to be a good person I have done shit that haunts me to this day and I'm still greatful I get to wake up in a house and not under a freeway underpass when most people just want more and more and more but me I just want people to realize that having all that special shit isn't gonna do anything but make you a different person, you don't need $500k in clothes to be someone of interest although that's how it is now everyone has to be flashy they have to buy all these necessary things they'll never really need but it's your money you do you
