Logarithm Change of Base Formula & Solving Log Equations - Part 1 - [7]
More Lessons: www.MathAndScience.com
Twitter: / jasongibsonmath
In this lesson, you will learn how to solve logarithmic equations by using the log change of base formula. We will learn that we can express the logarithm in terms of a different log with a different base. This is very useful when we solve logarithmic equations because we can construct the proper log to cancel terms and isolate the variable that we are trying to solve. In this lesson, we will introduce the log change of base formula and apply it to solving equations that contain logarithms.

Jason is the best teacher I have ever known. He also knows so much in all physics and maths field.
I bought his CD in 2007 when I was in community college 😊 and surly I passed with an A he is awesome 👏

@@MathAndScience I'm new to math. I'm almost 40, and I've never took the time to learn. I'm extremely interested in sharpening my mind. What video should I start with? I can add and subtract for the most part, division is tricky for me, as is multiplication. I really want to delve into the realm of math...

Another great video Jason. Even though we have never met, I consider you a good friend.
6:20 - Finally. Thank you for giving this part here. Literally the only question I had about this, is whether the base is fixed to 2 or 10 or not. But now thanks to you, I have finally no doubts.
Great teacher - wish I'd had you during my studies!
Thank God for giving me a teacher I can't meet in person, but leaning from him
Indeed it doesn't just come from the sky. What a smart tutor! Thank you so much.
Much appreciated Jason! Is there a playlist for this video? Or could you add it in the description?
Thankyou for having that teacher who let us to achieve our goals. May Almighty God bless him at all.
Thank you Jason! Greatly appreciate what you do for the world!

I'm happy with that proof, since I was struggling at. Logarithm of 1 is always zero irrespective of the bases. Logarithm to base 1 is undefined. E.g log 2 = log 2/log 1 = log 2/0 = undefined.

You are the best best best teacher I know. Thank you!
I write a lot of Powershell scripts at work. They are often not very mathematically intensive, but on a few occasions your videos have saved my day. Thank's.
I was struggling with that prove that how should I prove this .....but sir u r superb ...thanks for this 💕
Respected teacher you toght so well with kond heart. Thank you.
I understand the last derivation. Wow~ I used to get confused with them. Thanks.
Lengthy but worth the time, thanks. My appreciation.
God bless you sir, May all your wishes come true ❤
Great teaching. I have problem for how make table of lograthms is there any have a reference reviewing this fact. Thanks I mean where the values of log table are derived ? Which formula is used
Excellent! I learned (actually relearned) a lot!
Great tutorial, thanks a lot to share with us everyone 😍
This lesson is amazing and well understood please can you do a lesson on proving rational and irrational numbers please

Thanks so much sir 🙌🏼
Sir, i got answer 2, for log 9 base 3. But we got different answer in different way in our video, can you please explain this. I did 9 as 3 power 2 . And took 2 in the front. And i krep number 1 in place of log 3 base 3. Finally i got 2.
greetings from greece. your videos are very informative

I can't remember the base change formula if my life depended on it. I have to figure it out by using logs to base 2, 4 and 8 of 64, or that the formula for log to ln is 2.30
Just had this question today I guessed right answer but now u show the real answer. Wonderful channel

Nice one
I got offended when he said pull it out whatever little calculator you have 1:35 but personally I don't care if I got offended or not with my learning journey as long I'm learning somthing😂😂
Wish this was my teacher

Having challenges solving log x = -1.8 problem... Minor detail .......... The professor forgot that he could also convert to a base e, because there is a also a button on most calculators beside base 10
