It’s no pillow, it needs to be hard so that you can move on it easily, but falling on the canvas is certainly better than falling on the ground. As for what Seth was stating, about that first contact bringing something out. I agree 100%. Back when I use to do contact martial arts tournaments, it was always the full contact sparring that I enjoyed the most. Being a wrestler takes athletic ability above the average person. Just the physical stamina one needs to perform has to be respected. But with all due respect, wrestling as we know it today isn't real combat. The winner is pre chosen with a storyline. So, to say it's real isn't exactly correct. Never the less you have to give nothing but respect to all those wrestlers who night in and night out, entertaining wrestling fans.

It’s predetermined, punches are pulled, and objects are made to look real, but are really props. However, they do their own stunts, and the risk is there. Just about as real as any tv show or movie.

  • @lylaznboi01

I wouldn't say it's fully real. The bumps you take are definitely real, but matches are predetermined and scripted to a certain extent. People have gotten injured from wrestling, but all of the wrestlers are doing their move, for the most part, in one take, and people are entertained by it.

It's predetermined and scripted so calling it real is a bit of a stretch. But yeah it's probably the most physically demanding profession in sports these guys don't get an offseason and are constantly performing with injuries. So the physical aspect is very real. But the real goal is not to hurt your opponent but look like you are.

I have personal friends who are independent wrestlers and I can tell everything these people do hurts. Body slams hurt, DDTs and Neckbreakers can hurt, every bump hurts. And then you add being hit with objects made of metal, like ladders, chairs or steps. They hit in a way that doesn't completely kill someone and they're not really made of solid steel but aluminum or tin, but they do hurt. The tables and kendo sticks are gimmicked but they hurt, the chains, belts and everything is not solid steek, but again, they still hurt. Even the strikes that do land are not really like in boxing or MMA but they don't feel great. It's an exhibition of athletic ability and a performance, they rehearse the matches or talk about them beforehand and call spots during the matches, so everyone is prepared. It's choreographed and there's cooperation, but it's not a joke. I suppose in WWE or AEW they are better at protecting their performers and those performers are better workers too and they know how to do things and how to protect each other, but injuries are common, both minor and major ones.

Just when I think Logan Paul has respect for wrestling he doesn’t. I want to like him but when you say “learn the matches “ in front of seth Rollins. I mean wrestling fans c’mon here. And I know WWE is more lenient than other promotions but, Seth should have said something. Protect the business a little bit Logan to show that you give a damn. Wrestlers obviously haven’t took him to meet Kay Fabe yet.

@@LeCarnage you’re right, it doesn’t have to be directive, but at the same time you’re a performer in wrestling, you should know when to keep kayfabe or not, you don’t need to be told to keep kayfabe, it should be second nature. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say maybe he wants to keep kayfabe. But he is a rookie in wrestling, I don’t think he should shoot. That’s all.
