R-value is a great metric to measure energy efficiency, great for John Mansfield and their ilk. I've spent time in places where the R-value was literally zero. The people were often much healthier than your average American on almost every measurable variable and some immeasurable ones. It boils down to lifestyle. For example, why/how can the average 70yr old turkic man be comfortable in -40 degree weather? By drinking hot and fatty bone broth before venturing outdoors. A broth, I might add, that was cooked and constantly heated by the same fire that heats his family home. R-value doesn't account for any of that. My take away is this, politicians are smart and don't have our best interests in mind.

You can get all the information you need for free by a channel called the bearded carpenter. He's not trying to monetize on his knowledge, and has incredible information.

I have enjoy many of your videos... I do have a question about chinking with concrete. I have always believed that logs swell and shrink with the seasons. Here you use two different types of logs so I assume the shrink is different between the two... How does the concrete not crumble?
