The lad is back 🎉
You always seem to work seamlessly with the other trades which is to be admired. Another fantastic job, I just wish we had a loft space tall enough to turn into a useable space
Great work in tight quarters, gents! Whenever I hear this particular accent, in my mind, it's straight out of American Werewolf in London, when they're in the Slaughtered Lamb- "...there was this aeroplane over the Atlantic, on it's way to New York..." 🤣🤣🤣
Decent! Learnt a fair bit from your vids Rob. We're just finishing a loft "storage space" the clients are gonna store a bed, some chests of drawers, TV etc, all the usual stuff you need to store. 😉 Only difference,after the insulation in the rafters, we put a thermal VC foil on the rafters then 2x1 then 37mm insulated plasterboard. Just so all those things being stored are nice and cosy.

Don’t mate! I was just about to start my own “storage space” then I watched a video on KZread from a structural engineer would had me convinced my house would fall down if as so much put one board up there so I bottled it! 😅 These guys are doing it exactly how I was going to do it n it looks spot on

@@relaxreflect5888 it depends alot on the depth of your existing joists, the spans, etc we wouldn't do it on a new house roof with sticks as roof members. I've worked on a job where a structural engineer allowed 2x2 to be glued on top of the existing 6x2 and screwed every 300 mm with 4 inch screws, there are always ways and means.rob knows what he's doing. It's all about context. Every jobs different.
Great old school job,so good to see you moving on from previous 😡 you will always be in work matey because of one simple thing,as they say in Yorkshire 'thauht reit gud at thi job"👍

Interesting watch Rob, thankyou
4:20, I’m surprised they don’t want to leave the brick exposed, it’s a nice feature. 8:14, this space, too bad it wasn’t opened up to the main attic.
Would love to have that kinda space for someone to work this kinda wizardry on our 1930s detached, but then where would we put all the stuff we don't need 😂😂😂
Great iob fellas! The only slight thing I would of gone for would be top hung Velux's if I was being picky 👍

How do you fix the new cross beams on the floor to the walls at either end of the attic, and do you just sit the beams on the existing beams running the opposite direction?

@builditwithrob

Hello we use 25mm for storage space and 200mm for habitable
Fantastic job how much will it cost £££... please???
@builditwithrob

Hello friend Depending on size of loft and what you want, from £6000 to £12000
Won't the ceiling sag? The weight of the floor on them thin pieces of existing timber holding the weight of the new timber plus flooring plus whatever you putting in the room.

Them thin pieces of timber are what’s stopping your bedroom and bathroom being in your living room😂

@@jonodunn2592 I've done similar for storage but i put sprags in screwed to both the "joists" and the rafters/pearling depending where i place the sprags, certainly wouldn't do it without sprags and 100% not for a bedroom 🤣
Hi genuine question here. How has one whole side of that roof got no purling struts or hangers?
My loft is a mess isulation has been ripped up put in a pile so i have no istulation up there. Wish mine looked this good
