Lonely nights driving my semi on US 54 between Wichita and Tucumcari, the bright three headlights on the parallel track always made feel better because I wasn't the only one toiling until dawn. Edit: Can I get train horns (I've seen them at Morrill, NE in a box! Not the fake ones!) blaring when I pass to the other side? It would be my honor to know that the power of the locomotive would carry me home.

Mike, ever ran the Abbeville Sub through Athens,Georgia? That sub's been real quiet lately. Back in the day,I used to watch locos stop and take off with monster speed across the Athens trestle over North Avenue! Legend has it that some dude dared an engineer the he could out run that loco side by side across that trestle. And then there's the legendary 'Rail Rotter'. Some unidentified dude who's cursed to walk across the Earth. He decided to walk the rails because he realized he's off the rails. (Dead/Zombie.)

@@valdezgarciajoabisai2983 Joab I am retired and have no current contacts with the RR in that way. You would have to go online and search for railroad job openings and apply online . If you are trying to get into train service the includes conductor and engineer you would need to search for railroads hiring conductor trainees or hiring for engineer trainees. All of this is done online and you have to be patient some years railroads do a lot of hiring and other years it can be slow or not at all, best wishes.
