My father had logged over a 1000 hours flying on the C-141 Starlifter as a med tech flying air evac missions during the Vietnam War transporting the wounded soldiers.
Use to watch 141's takeoff and land at an Air Force base in my home town. The engines are more turbojet than turbofan and they always smoke, which is the old school method of turning jet fuel into horsepower. The 141 is a beast with an angels mission.
Awesome aircraft.
The most beautiful airplane ever built!
Great Bird
A model! Nice!
Stylish plane.
USAF 66-70, Avionics tech, worked the 141 at Dover AFB and Rhein Main and TDY locations such as our TET Offensive around the clock air lift of Bell CObra helis to NAM from Barksdale AFB. Great bird, were new at the time. Busy times🗽🇺🇸
While in the USAF a generation ago I flew in this bird a few times.

Ditto !! 👍
That's the re-deployment of the 9th ID from Vietnam. I bet they were some happy troops.
Much better in bare metal.

Except for pitting to the skin. That's why they went to the gray-and-white color scheme.
Where's my tailnumber 68 1032?
