I've analyzed some of the lines Nothing There says in its final form, displayed here in order. Some of them may be incorrect, it's hard to tell what exactly some of them are saying. Unknown Voice 3: (unintelligible, sounds like growling) Female Voice 2: HELP! SOMEONE HELP! HELP!! Male Voice 1: Help...help...help... Female Recording Voice: 6, 15, 50. We are in direct position- Male Recording Voice: You have received a voicemail. Female Voice 2: HELP! HELP!! Female Voice 3: How may I help you? Female Recording Voice: 48, 49, 50. Speak to the National Telegram and Coroner Service. Female Voice 1: So I reach to you, with the best part of me. Female Voice 3: How may I help you? Female Voice 1: Together, we are singing the song of creation. Together, we are seeing the soul of creation. Female Voice 3: How may I help you? How may I help you? How may I help you? Edit (9/20/20): Newest Theory: Dang, it's been over a year since I've posted this comment. I of course appreciate the feedback I've gotten on this. Never thought this comment would be seen. But anyway, I digress. I have done some more research and I believe that I must make another revision on my theory. I have come to realize that I missed one crucial detail: that Nothing There may have started out in the Corporation in the first place. You see, some of Nothing There's flavor text that appears during works states: "'She' was (Employee Name)'s senior. They had never spoken a word to each other, but they may have been coworkers." as well as "(Employee Name) had seen 'her' employee profile. The reason (Employee Name) could remember 'her' is that she had a distinguishable mole on 'her' face." Nothing There, or at least part of Nothing There, was an employee of Lobotomy Corporation. To further prove that, I was recently able to access the Lobotomy Corporation assets, and I noticed something in the Nothing There sprite: underneath Nothing There's head (in its original form) is a clerk outfit, specifically one from Malkuth's department. The outfit is red with a green collar and green buttons. So either this is the "she" referred to in the flavor text, or this is simply another part of Nothing There that worked in the Corporation. Speaking of Malkuth, that leads me to the next part of my theory. Spoilers are ahead, so if you have not completed any core suppressions I advise that you turn back. Right before Malkuth's Core Suppression, we learn that Malkuth was originally Elijah. Elijah, against A's orders, experimented on herself with Cogito. This led her to fall to the floor, writhing in pain, with half of her teeth and nails gone. It sounds similar to Nothing There's physical description, but way more severe. And considering that Nothing There is most likely an amalgamation of one or more employees and other people, it's probable that Nothing There was created, at least in part, by the Cogito experiments (Thank you TheRibbonRed for pointing that out). Considering that the Lobotomy Corporation is made up of multiple facilities (and has probably been in existence for a while), it's likely that Nothing There is made up of not even one or two Corporation employees. In fact, Nothing There could also even be made up of employees from other Corporations, or maybe even civilians. For other Corporations, those parts of Nothing There could have resulted from some other equally-dreadful experiment(s) (I say that because of the fact that Nothing There has immunity to Red damage in its final form, could have been some kind of Immunization project). It's very hard to say how many, or even who or what Nothing There is made of. There are several eyes, mouths, and other body parts of varying sizes, so it's hard to say for certain what exactly makes up Nothing There. But either way, Nothing There is definitely not just a single entity, as the wiki even states that "Nothing There, along with 1.76 MHz, are the only abnormalities in the Abstraction/*Amalgamation* Abnormality group." One of the voices in Nothing There's final form even goes "Together, we are one." If that isn't evidence enough, I don't know what is. Finally, before I wrap up the theory, I better just reiterate some of the points of my previous theory, as well as some others. First off, Nothing There's best work is Attachment. Attachment is described as "A work to satiate social needs. All Abnormalities carry desires and a will, and as such social needs are included. As this work involves acting as a playmate or companion, great care is required as only limited interaction is allowed..." Considering Nothing There's possible origins, it's possible that a part of Nothing There still wants to be appreciated or loved again. After all, when Nothing There takes the form of an employee, Nothing There says "I love you", in both a woman's voice and a child's voice. The individuals who make up Nothing There don't want to be seen as a monster, but as their previous human selves. That could be a reason that Nothing There is trying to evolve to be a human (as stated in the Abnormality story), but I would imagine that the subjects may also want revenge on the Corporations/groups that made them this way. Next, I want to discuss the importance of some of Nothing There's lines. I already talked about "I love you", so I will skip that one. I also briefly mentioned the line of "Together, we are one", of course being related to how Nothing There is an amalgam of different individuals. But that line could also relate to whoever authorized the experiments, such as how another line says "Well hello there, dear. I've been expecting you." Such lines could have been to assure subjects that what they were doing was safe, or even to psychologically manipulate the subjects into the experiment, as I find lines like "So I reach to you with the best part of me" and "Together, we are singing the song of creation" are said rather...ominously. One last thing on the voicelines: it's possible that some of the lines are simply Nothing There imitating other people, like how one of the lines is "Hey Man!" and "How may I help you?" After all, one would expect that when their E.G.O. is literally called Mimicry. There is probably something I missed and things I forgot to mention from my previous theories, and there might not be enough space to discuss the theory to its entirety. I may post a pastebin or something in the future if this theory gets too big. So then, this is my most current, complete theory: Nothing There is the amalgamation of several people, at least one having been an employee of Lobotomy Corporation, with the addition of other individuals, maybe others associated with other Corporations or even normal civilians. Nothing There resulted from the experimentation of Cogito, as well as maybe other projects from other Corporations or unknown groups. These experiments, either accidentally or purposefully, led all of the subjects to become Nothing There. Over time, Nothing There is evolving. Acting more humanoid, mimicking human voices, standing on two feet, it's plain to see. All because it wants to be loved again, it wants to be human again. But the anger and pain from these dreadful experiments have clouded their minds. So when Nothing There fully regains its human body, the Corporations will have hell to pay for what they did to them.

I'm pretty sure it also says something along the lines of, "You have received a voicemail" in a very deep man's voice, and when it brings down its scythe in one of the attacks, it says "Goodbye" in another deep voice. It also says "Hello?" in what I think is a young boy's voice when performing the claw attack (the one that pierces across the room). I just wanted to add on to the list I guess, and there's probably a few more we both missed.

Partially confirmed in Ruina: Nothing There was indeed one of the earliest extracted abnos, before Carmen's death as Kali received her copy of Mimicry before then. However, it's inferred that the extraction wasn't particularly immoral or gruesome as Carmen didn't kill herself over it.

My personal favorite one that scared me the most is 'you have a voice mail' and I fell out of my chair panicking over that more than any other given line. I laugh at it now but back then it was not funny and that was how I saw Nothing There had defeated the Rabbits

To all those saying its resistances vary depending on the employee it disguises as. That is false. its resistances are "Unspecified" because they change depending on its form. Its resistances are as follow. First form: Red 0.3, White 0.8, Black 0.8, Pale 1.2 Second form (egg): Red 0.0, White 0.6, Black 0.6, Pale 1.0 Third form: Red 0.0, White 0.4, Black 0.4, Pale 0.8

The Thing did more than wore its skin. It literally absorbed them. It had their memories to some degree. It could literally perfectly mimic them. How you could find it was to take advantage of the fact its intelligence was based on its size. So taking a blood sample would create a smaller version that was too stupid to not react to a stimulus. But one that was person sized was smart enough to know that so would try to avoid that situation. Nothing there seems to be a mimic that doesn't really understand what it is mimicking.

It's saying "I love you" over and over with my best employee's smug looking face.

In the Legacy version (alpha) gender mechanics affects the interaction with many Abnormalities (ex: Red Shoes). The lastest release simplified that away, but the naming convention remains.

If you have an employee with very high Fortitude, Temperance and Justice and equipped with decent Armor/Red resistance they can work fairly safely on Nothing There. If anything its one of the more forgiving Alephs... well, so long as you manage it well and/or suppress it very, very quickly.

bro at least nothing there isnt a result breacher (as long as you dont get a bad result but...duh) silent orchestra fucking sucks because you have to babysit it and its ego gift takes painfully long to get as it has the pe box output of a HE class abno. at least the gear and the gift skill is truly worth it (and you never have to touch the thing again when you get the full set, gift and all) but its.... something.

ive housed this thing for a while now, and its honestly not as bad as people make it out to be! (when its in containment of course. please dont ever let it breach) here is what i have learned: •DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THE COLORS, it doesnt like instinct as much as you think it does. do attachment instead, dont be scared by the all-high its not a trap! •dont send anybody with HE or lower armor inside the containment oh my fucking god WAW ARMOR BARELY HOLDS!!!! you'll be fine with practically any aleph armor (ive seen that sound of a star works well when you dont have mimicry) but if nt is your first aleph and you have a waw armor then pray that it has red resistance higher than 0.8. 0.8 isnt a guaranteed death per se, but youre going to need to pray that your nugget makes it out alive. 0.7 and lower will (mostly) be fine but they are going to need a bit of healing. •malkuth suppression sucks when you have NT because its a bitch when you do insight. unless you have this absolute temperance monster i suggest you avoid doing insight work. •what else..... oh yeah uh if you play by its rules, getting its ego and gift will be a breeze! ive never had it breach (only had it kill nuggets two times and im excluding the button) and to be honest its just like blue star- max level employee, good red resistance, never let it escape and you're all set. im pretty sure i got both the weapon and the armor during the same day. so yeah thats all i can think of about housing this cute skin dog amalgamation, maybe ill add more if i can think of it. in the meantime, i would be overjoyed if people made additions to this, suppression or just containment would work!! thank you!

I got this on purpose on day ~41 to see how hard it was to defeat on its final form. First try, no deaths, it did use multiple shields though

im really new to this game and i got this abnormalty on my second playthrough try (aka i just restarted for missions.) he's def one of my favorites, its so adorable to me. however I'm really confused on how to handle it, can you only get boxes/info when it breaches and you defeat it?? are you able to hire a new employee as a sacrifice? whats the best way to handle it?

Got this guy on day 18? Didn't know you can get alephs that early. Anyways he instantly escaped and killed everyone.

Just let melting love breach and she will chip it She has -1.0 from red damage meaning she will be healed by nothing there And she is easier to contain than magical girl just send no red and have black resistance

Oddly enough I killed it without bullets but it was kinda just a really lucky cheese. I just brought iny guy with nothing there's armor and had everyone swarm him from the side he wasn't attacking on.

Many anomalies are friendly, It just that some of their special "characteristics" happen to be deadly for us regular folk. A few "friendly" abnormalities are Laetitia (she's just jealous), Melting Love (VERY friendly, if you know what Im saying, but also has slime STD), Children of Galaxy (always sad and a bit jealous), Fragment of the Galaxy (nice...dog, but too abstract for mortal minds), Magical Girl (she just has PTSD) Knight of Despair (will get very sad if her brave knight dies), Fiery Bird (likes to play rough, but will heal you to show that she plays for fun), Beauty and the Beast (it is simply a cursed human you can exploit for lots of energy with Repression, but doing so will end up killing it and passing the curse to the employee doing the work), Porccubus (just wants people to laugh and be happy) and a few others.

With pause and good coordination of your employees, you can actually cheese NT fairly easily (a skilled manager can probably also do it without pause). 1. Get NT in a fairly small room, but not as small as an elevator (department main rooms aside from centcomm and the extra rooms in control, intel, welfare, and discipline) 2. Place someone who tank red well with a melee to attack NT in about the middle of the room 3. On the same side of NT as the tank, bring in ranged users who can reach NT from a door of the room (QoH ego weapon is especially useful for this since it will also heal the tank) 4. Slowly whittle him down while avoiding attack When he uses the blade, set the tank to walk to another room away from NT then send them back once it slashes When it does the ranged attack, move all the ranged users in to the adjacent room which they are stood in the doorway to, then move them back once it is done 5. Profit (This doesn't work so well if you have other abnos that you need strong employees to deal with, but tbh in that case you're probably completely fucked anyways)

oh my god i renember having to deal with this on my like, first or second playthru and i was like "OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT FLESH MAN WHY IS BULLET WELL THATS GONE NOW ITS OUT WHERE IS IT I DONT KNW OH GOD HELP" and immediatly restarted and never played again

These videos are cool, but I wish you'd speak louder and write a script before-hand. There's a lot of awkward pauses between, and during, sentences, and I have to remember to turn my volume down after these videos so I don't hurt my ears later. Just some constructive criticism.
