Wheels get sent to a wheel reconditioning facility that will take them apart, clean them up, and put them back into service. Most parts can be reconditioned but some defects require the part to be melted down into a whole new part.

How do you secure these to the flatbed... obviously with chains... but how do you chain them to the flatbed?

Either to chain pockets in the floor or the stake pockets and pipe spools along the outer edge of the trailer

chain, you can see him tug on it a few times, straps more than likely wouldn't hold

Do they set up wooden 2x4's as rails to roll them up and keen them aligned straight flange to flange?

This trailer has metal rails for the wheel sets to rest on

Do you have a contract for this? How much does it pay?

They look like 6 1/2x12 36 inch wheel sets. 15 per trailer 3,065 LBS per wheel set 45,975 LBS total.

We put 16 on a trailer. And yes just shy of 50k

I wouldn't be standing in front of those while loading.

I used to repair these at UTC-RAS in Morton PA. We'd clean up the ones within wheel life specs. The others were broken down into their basic parts, re-furbished/and or replaced then rechecked by the QC team before being returned to the customer.

Would anyone knows what that load weighs?

It depend on who is asking. If you are Caltrans...then it's most certainly never, ever over 72,000 lbs max gross. Practically, figure 2,000 lbs per wheel set. I don't remember how many wheels we loaded on this trailer. Thanks for watching and commenting!
