Helpful tip . I have been at this for a long time . I have a setup where I use steel bars as a ramp , and I have climbing rope ( designated just for this , and / or heavy straps) , and pull them down the ramp ( they will move quickly once they pass the edge ) . So make sure they are long enough where they won't smash into your bc . Then proceed to transport . Keep people clear . Be safe everyone ! And NEVER let someone anywhere near what you are doing , thinking they may be of help. Common sense saves lives and limbs. That dude is lucky , and so are you that that monster log didn't fall and crush his leg . Shit happens and it happens fast

Just watched your video. I have a sawmill and often move logs with either a large tractor or a similar size track loader. You guys were doing some serious stuff. Those are extremely heavy logs…as you know. One thought I had was to holler “Stay Back!!” to the guy who thought he could somehow help as that huge oak rolled back toward the trailer when unloading. The other thought was to maybe roll them off that deck-over trailer and pick them up from the ground. Either way, a very interesting video. Thanks.

I like bobcat machines and and I love watching how much work it gets done with this machines. Just one thing that got me nervous about was when you unload the 4th log that was soo dangerous when the guy hung onto the log but other than that I like your video.

I was curious about how could it be possible to load something with a bobcat. But I’m not confortable of these situations bring by the bobcat concept « do the maximum with a minimum « Luckily it worked that time

I can't believe Bobcat still has weak tilt strength in there machines , I've ran several older machines with the single tilt cylinder that had poor roll back strength . In this vid if the operator could have curled the forks back it would have been alot more stable . The Gehl's I run now will lift the rear tires off the ground with there tilt function

you are comparing apples to oranges. I can also pick the rear wheels off my bobcats with the tilt , but this it a TRACK machine.

@@johnmckanna1064 Other than a track machine weighing more I don't see your point . The curl back power isn't there in this video , Doesn't matter if it's a bobcat or a cat . The bobcats I have ran , older 763 and 853 with there single cylinder curl simply don't have the power . this machine in the video has twin cylinder's and still doesn't have the power to curl a heavy load . You don't mention what machine you have that will do this

William Moorehead Aside from being a lot heavier, track machines have the front “wheels” further forward than a wheeled machine, so it is much more difficult to lift up the back end. Makes a big difference if you look at the tipping load as an example.

Good job guys, not much OSHA approved about this job. Lol

Is your T-66 using antifreeze? My engine just blew at 250 hours.

Luckily it's not, fingers crossed though! I've heard mixed things about the R series Bobcats. Some people have little to no issues and others have a bunch. Did Bobcat cover it with the warranty?

@@srmcontracting I do not know what they are going to do yet. It's been at Bobcat a week and a half now. Supposedly they are waiting on oil sample results. I'll never buy another!

Too bad you couldn't have called in a mobile sawmill to make some slabs out of all that great oak.

@@KarasCyborg yes. But try and find a sawmill guy to come out and mill it up. Some areas like around Bastrop, Texas you got good mill operators. This dudes in Pennsylvania I do believe. Not sure what part but the part where I’m from you’d be hard pressed to find anyone to actually come out and do the work. You pretty much gotta take it to a mill like this guy did or run your own portable mill. We cut down a huge silver maple south of Columbus ohio last year, I told the guy I’d call ten mills if none of them come out to pick it up or mill it then I’d chop it up for firewood. Ten phone calls later the ms661 got fired up and everything cut up into firewood.

They're rated for 2800lbs Lol I bent one of the forks once, I heated it up and bent it back. They've moved 100's of pallets ranging from 3-4k.
