I think if you got pulled over, the inspector would really frown on how you are transporting the bucket and the box grader. The only thing holding them is slight residual hydraulic pressure. Remember you relaxed it? If you had a hydraulic failure, that bucket is coming out of the grapple and through the car behind you. In my OPINION, it’s always best to chain down all the attachment. The way you did it seems like an accident waiting to happen. Also, since you don’t have factory lockout on the backhoe and FEL, the boom and FEL should be chained. JMO.

Great video for beginners and more experienced folks alike. Good job explaining what you were doing & why you were doing it. Glad you explained the concept of weight distribution and emphasized tongue weight. Very informative video. Thanks for taking the time to make and share it.

Thanks for taking the time to make the video, and trying to help others do things safely. Unfortunately, what you did in the video is absolutely unsafe (probably illegal) for you and everyone else around you. You should use four separate chains, one on each corner of the load, 45 degrees from load to support is a good target. You used 3, if the one chain on the rear of the tractor breaks, or loosens (which can happen), the rear end is not secure at all. Also, the rear of the tractor can move side to side with one chain, even though you crossed the chain over the hoe. Four separate chains will not allow that to happen. The attachments are not tied down at all! You are counting on gravity and pressure relief valves to hold the hoe on the scraper and the grapple on the loader bucket. No Way! To properly secure that load, you need a minimum of six chains. A binder on each one is what I do. If you lose any part of that load and hurt or kill someone, you are done. Take what you do seriously and do it right. My brother was a DOT cop for 20 years and taught me the correct way. Anyone who watched/watches this, DO NOT DO THIS! Ask the State Police in your state to show you how to do this. Dan, I would stop doing this and get rid of the proof you ever did (delete this video). Sounds harsh I know, but a 400 pound loader bucket taking out a family going to Grandmas for apple pie is a lot worse.

Good video. Those attachments front and back should be secured, at least by a rachet strap, if not a chain and binder. Dont teach people a halfway to do things....

Most states require four independent hooks to the tractor. That means four ratchet straps or four clamps.

Personally, it's four chains or more and some areas require crossed chains so I usually cross them. We have larger tractors (100 hp more or less),often will duels and wide attachments so require bigger trucks and trailors with signs and flags and sometimes escorts, lots of fun

Every point has to be able to be tightened. DOT doesn’t play with load security. The WLL of the chains needs to be 50% of what you are securing. If it’s going over, it needs to be 100%. Working load limit.

Great video, but a tip for you. Always pull to lock your chain binder. If your hands slip you’ll be eating that cheater pipe and spitting out teeth. Ask me how I know…

This task can be accomplished with 2-20 ft chains 4 binders and two 2-in straps. Binder on each corner strap on each implement.

When I load things I’m always thinking of this thing tips over I was the tractor to stay attached to this trailer. This means will my chains hold strong if this trailer tips or rolls? Those chains look like they need to be three times as thick with a chain binder at all four corners and possible two More mod section then secure the implements down with high tensile ratchet straps. Spend the extra money on heavy chain and binders. It’s like do you want your wife to drive a 1965 dodge with no seatbelts or do you want her to have seat belts, air bags, curtain , side door and steering wheel. Although 65 Dodges are cool, I’d add a harness, cage and a Hemi.

Nice tractor. I have a 3200 dt bh77. I sold my car trailer and got a 22' beaver tail equipment trailer. Loads really easy. If you have ktac insurance, you can add the trailer. Really cheap

19'6" Thank You My trailer came with the Package deal from a local trailer manufacturer at 18 feet and the Kubota L-2501 and I bought the Woods BH-75 backhoe the following week I bought the removable stake pocket 'D' rings and was able to get the Hooks through them but some how one will not go back through to remove it from the 'D' ring. I will remove the hook from the chain and that issue is solved Question about possibly grinding some of the Hook for gaining clearance with the 'D' Rings do You think that it might make that hook degraded and dangerous?????? I really try to avoid modifying anything that is a safety device It is just long enough but the hinged ramps were making contact with the Brush Hog when it arrived and had already chipped the paint which was a minor point because I knew after I started using it there would be many more chips and scratches and dents Your Trailer looked like it was at least that long if not a 20 foot trailer, and was it NOT hooked to You Tow Vehicle. I assume it was connected It was not visible in the video and the trailer jacks the the rear did not seem to touch the ground as You loaded I will look again at that step Thanks for Your fast response Ken in Florida

All implements need to be strapped down independently by law. So strap the backhoe, strap the box blade. The bucket is a big disaster the way you have it. Strap the darn thing down bro. Insanity? And use four chainsaws instead of three, 45 degrees on all four points. The DOT would have a field day if you got pulled over like this. Probably set you back $600 plus on multiple tickets. Buy some more chains and get her done, Let’s Go !!!

I have been wondering if anyone loads a Kubota with a Backhoe backed onto the trailer How long is Your trailer Deck? I see You still have a clearance issue where You use the bucket to raise the rear/lower the trailer tail so Backhoe frame does not rub or drag on the trailer Reaching back to work the backhoe levers is probably not a good option for Me and My lower back issues I have not tried backing onto the trailer yet, but when I drive onto it the bottom of the Backhoe plows a deep gouge in the dirt/sand 18 foot with Beaver tail and 4 foot ramps and longer ramps might have to be at least 10 to 12 feet long Thank You for this video Ken in Florida
