I still ride mine after 8 years. I remember seeing some guy on Reddit say “Loaded boards are nice, but they will probably delam after a year or two”. Oh yeah? Because mine still feels brand new

@@HieronymousLex got mine second hand for cheaps and it was definitely used, still rides perfectly. Built like a tank! Hope it’ll never break though because these decks are crazy expensive!

Man 6 years, feels like yesterday, the Tan Tien will always have a special place in my heart, such good times. Sad that the German scene is shrinking.

+unvervacebushcraft In the town where i live it used to be one of the hotspots for longboard skating in North Rhine Westfalia but after 3 years, more and more were gone especially veterans left and now we are a group of about 10 people and 4 are still actively skating, the rest are sadly posers ...

Just started doing DH and Freeride, and can say that the Dominican scene is shrinking as well, the ones of the old school guys that are left, always tell me about how they use to be a big grup of about 30 longboarders and how they use to do tons of trips around the island... now there are like 10 and most of theme are new like me... maby i started Longboarding in the wrong time...

Damn 10 years! That was the video that got me to buy my Tan Tien, i can't beleive it's been this long! Did my first run since a very long time today and came straight back to this video after, its the best ever!!

I remember when this first came out i was so hyped, it's amazing to see how far longboarding has come, nowadays this isn't considering too hard atall. Stay Stoked

Has it been 10 years already?!?! This video led me to buy my tan tien back in 2010 and I've loved it since the day I bought it. I'm still not as good as these guys, but have so many great memories on this board. Keep spreading the stoke

I always come back to the video mid winter and think back on the good days of long boarding and summer. One of my favorite KZread videos and absolutely dig this song.

I'm a very dedicated longboarder and usually swear by sector 9 products. but about 30 minutes ago I rode a loaded board for the first time, which was a tan tien. Needless to say I'm now buying one ASAP. smoothest ride ever.

Forget my Evo, I want this board!!!

I wish I was even remotely able to do anything in this video. Looks soo fun once you're that good, but I'm terrible ;(

Practice practice practice, I've been longboarding for 10 years, I watch videos of me longboarding when I was 13 when I first started, I don't even recognize that it was me in the video. It feels like that kid couldn't get as good as this one sitting here now, but he did. As I always say, you'll always be afraid to try something new until you try it

I started Longboarding in the year when this video came out, I always wanted to get a tan tien but it never happened. I’m watching this today almost a decade later, all the memories is now replaying, good old times...

Love this. Still one of the most fun longboarding vids around. And at the end of the day it's the fun that counts

I found my old wheels from 10 years ago, can't remember the brand because the graphic completely wore away, but I threw them on this board and holy shit, this board became a sliding beast with those 88a wheels

@imazngg No, the dervish is. Not saying it can't handle other stuff, but the only area where it really shines is carving. I realize that statement could be misinterpreted. So @snones7 if you're reading this, I meant to say the tan tien is your best choice.

I just got the tan tien a few days ago and im LOVING IT!

I just wanna say to anybody that has doubts about the board, don't worry. I have it and if your looking for a solid freeride board, a simply fantastic freestyle board, and a board that can actually downhill pretty well here it is. I have mine and i can pull big standies and hit fast downhills all the time.

@XFerrosX Its really up to you if you know your going to be growing and getting a little heavier go with the flex 2 but if you stay around the 130 to 140 area get the flex 3, also the flex 3 does have a lot more spring then the flex 2. Which the flex 2 is stiffer. which ever one you get I guarantee you will love it. if you have other questions feel free and ask.

That depends on how fast your planning to go... If you plan of doing some fast freeride i would recommend getting a flex 1. But if you want to cruise and freestyle i would recommend getting a flex 2 even if it means you have to get a 2012 graphic

@maxzxz369 yep 86 will slide a lil easier and last longer if you slide alot because they are slightly harder but 83 are still great for sliding.

dont worry i have a tan tien and i have bottomed it out a ton! like the board wont snap or anything and the board holds together very well. the only thing to worry about is razor tail. in all my current videos im riding a tan tien!

first guy to ever rock a full cut longboarding

if you are looking for high speed downhill these aren't your best bet. the decks are bamboo which makes them great for carving but at high speeds you will get speed wobbles much easier. if you are going to carve the hills all the time this board would be solid, but anything higher than about 25 mph and you will get speed wobbles

@tedissmall321 There is nothing wrong with the flex 3 it has a lot of spring, the reason they have the flexes is not for snapping purposes but for the board bottoming out, I am 150 and ride a flex 2 it is a little stiffer however it give you a great spring. If you have any other questions let me know.

@ikelike122 it has a little much concave for heavy dancing (and its only 38-39 inches, not sure) but its possible to bust out the occasional cross step and stuff like that.

I used the TanTien for a few month now and I do exactly the things you do/want to do. For me theres no better board out there then the TanTien. So I would say, go with the TanTien ! Oh and if you want to do sliding and you're a beginner go with the yellow orangatang stimulus. You will slide in no time.

@pwnagelicious paris 180mm definitely. they are one of the recommended truck styles for the tan tien.

@Commander56651 thanks for the advice! I checked out all the boards you suggested and the one that appeals to me most is the neversummer revolt. Although that one is the best out of those, I still think the Tan Tien is a bit better for me. this is because it flexes more than the revolt, and Im not really looking to go down any enormous hills. But anyway, thanks for the help!

@bilebrany it does screw them up if you don't clean them. Clean them regularly and you will still probs have to change them ever 1-1.5 years

@derrrpp i'm 5'9, 135 pounds. the dervish is great. i find the tan tien a bit too short. but i def. recommend the dervish

I own a tan tien my self and I love it. I agree that some boards could be over priced ( I bought my for $450 excluding tax) but they could be well built.

I'd go with Paris trucks, They're amazing! Wheels, depending on what you want to do affects that. In the video it looks like they are using 86a stimulus wheels. Bearings, you should be fine with some bone reds. And spacers help out but make it harder to put on your wheels.

@silysith soap helps ALOT too. take off your trucks and just carve off shavings of soap with a knife, then put the shavings (just a little) into the front socket of the trucks (the part where the little knob fits in, not where the bushings are).

@ikelike122 no i would go with the dancer bahgra or dervidh. tan tien is for slides shuvits and stuff like that.

Those are actually 86a stims. If you wanna slide you probably need to go faster and/or loosen your trucks up. Other than that just lean hard, carve hard, push your feet on the rails of the board and just commit.
