My old alpha world has been loaded in just about every version of Minecraft. There are so many chunk issues and every tree has every kind of leaf possible on them.

DarkPandaLord it literally is a lot more grey. Biome tints became less vibrant over time, with the exception of jungles and maybe 1 or 2 other biomes.

Helpful tip: The generation between Beta 1.8 - 1.6 changed as such: Beta 1.8 was different from B 1.7 1.0.0-1.1 changed from B 1.8 due to the Tundra biome being readded. 1.2-1.6 changed from 1.1 due to the Jungle biome being added.

Hey Verlis :D There's also the Minecraft Movie scheduled for 2019, the 10 year anniversary of Minecraft. Franchises like Sonic will be on its 28th year, and Pokémon on its 23rd. Minecraft will be almost half as old as the Pokémon franchise.

They would not exist; Mojang removed them IIRC Beta 1.8 I believe. AntVenom DID make a video where you can load the Far Lands into 1.8 Minecraft, but I'm not sure if it will still work in 1.10.

They would be there. Except they would stop generating like that, so you need to generate a lot.

My second Minecraft world, which I still play, has countless cuttings like that and it doesn't bother me, I see it as an interesting thing of that world, it's like an unique world type, Patchwork Type. There is even a one chunk wide stripe surrounded by sea on both sides in one place of the world. In the same world I can get really old terrain and seagrass-populated terrain

Alpha level Format was added in March 27, 2010 in version 20100327 (12th version with infinite generation) A, there was a saving format before that. I'm not sure if that format could cross versions; prob not tho. If any1 wanted to do a world going from version 20100327 and onward; you could, but there are some versions you might want to skip (like 20100625 changes the chunk format, and causes problems, it literally get changed after this version back to Alpha Level Format, but there is sometime a problem where it changes your world, but you have your inventory in the next version. or maybe it just changes spawn- not sure cus I could find out without coords; idk how common that is, but one guy did found a way to fix it... somehow, I just watched him fix it, he didnt explained( a Lets play). just back up your world with versions - and look at the wiki for each version; so you can skip the ones with bugs.

there are alternative launchers that add compatibilities and let you use your skin - I used BetaCraft, it has a built in list of the versions- like a LARGE one, and my skin works in a lot of the versions - it also fixes crashes that happen on Mac and Linux, (it doesn't edit the actual game - just the arguments; and maybe some java compatibilities- I don't know the technicals of that)

3:03 Actually, it will be a good feature if you replace the prismarine blocks with bricks, vines, broken bricks, etc so it looks like a *LOST TEMPLE* , also remove the water and replace it with white stained glass so it's looks like foggy. Just imagine if it have a new Golem Boss inside with some minion inside it, you can called it *THE RUINS UPDATE*

Alpha Save: Infdev - Beta 1.2 Mcregion: Beta 1.3 - Release 1.1 Anvil: Release 1.2 -> current

I wish I knew more about worldgen back in beta 1.2 going to 1.3, I had a really cool island with three sheer cliff sides that was decently sized spawn in the middle of a decently size ocean biome that was DEEP, making it a sorta survival island-ish. When I tried that seed again after some update the height and depth of terrain was off, and it turned into a four-block-high peninsula surrounded by similarly shallow ocean. Good thing that they brought back deep oceans, though.

Just alpha 1.1.2 you'll have to load it twice cause when creating a world it crashes but the 2nd time it loads

@@darkpandalord3844 It's not that I don't like the new features. The game needs to improve, and expand over time. I imagine it's more a changing of myself than a changing of the game, but the feel that alpha had just isn't there for me anymore.

Geez, I haven't watched one of your videos in awhile, and the quality's gotten much better, despite the old stuff also being really good quality.

My world got corrupted in august 2014 ,I had it since beta 1.8. When ever I load the game in a version higher than 1.0 it gets corrupted and chunks get replaced with new ones destroying and tearing apart everything I made, the land and everything else is still there just replaced , I've tried all the tricks like changing the files but it still isn't fixed. I can only play my world In 1.8 -1.0 without it being corrupted, how do I fix this problem

Maybe go into saves file, copy the world and paste it back into the save file so you have a backup. Then maybe load up the backup in 1.8 to generate everything normally and skip straight to the latest version and load it up then. Could work.

I tried an experiment starting with Alpha, then going through a few beta versions, loading in lots of chunks, then switching to release 1.0. This last part led to almost all the blocks being nothing but grey blocks. I updated through to 2.1 and nothing changed, but then decided to skip ahead to 1.7.10 and suddenly everything was fine. I'm up to 1.12.2 now and everything works. I love the contrasts from early alpha to beta to the update that changed the world. If nothing goes wrong, I'm thinking of eventually just making this my main survival world in 1.16.5 or maybe 1.17.1. Beta had some truly wonderful generation that you'll never see in later versions. The ocean borders are also weird, generating one block lower. Thanks AV for the tips, it's nice to confirm that I actually got the process right.

I tried downloading this map once, on the old version but sadly I'm having a problem where the map doesn't seem to work. When I put it in my saves, and load it up, it spawns me inside of blocks, suffocating me to death and spawning me somewhere else (idk if it's even on the same map as it's supposed to be, but even after exploring for a bit, I couldn't find the base) I have tried using different maps too (like playing an old adventure map) but I keep experiencing the same problem. If anyone knows about this problem and how to fix it, I'd really appreciate it.

If you try to load up a "chunk type 2" map on a "chunk type 1" version, this will happen. Make sure you're loading it up with the right version.

actually, i went through the versions starting with the oldest Infdev version that used .DAT files instead of .mclevel files and as i went through, i got those large flat cliffs even in other versions of Infdev, mainly when there was a tree bug and when flowers were readded back into the terrain

at the beginning when antvenom showed the transition between alpha beta and release you can notice that at the beginning (alpha) the colors were very bright and cartoonish, while in release they are much darker and sorta depressing

As of now, to the best of my knowledge, between Beta 1.8 and Release 1.7 the world generator changed in these versions: Beta 1.8, Release 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, and 1.7. The changes between 1.8, 1.0, and 1.1 are very small, however. It seems that biomes that were unchanged generate the exact same terrain between these versions. The ones that were touched (I think oceans and any snowy biomes but I may be wrong) are the only ones that generate different terrain. I tested this on an extreme hills biome. By using the same seed on Beta 1.8, Release 1.0, and 1.1, if you travel to that biome on each world, the terrain shape is the same.

I’m a collector of old maps, and I (I’m known as TriggeredSnake on Reddit.) created the largest alpha and beta map archive that I know of, and I’d be super fascinated to experience any alpha or beta maps you have. (for example that TNT cannon map, I totally understand if you wouldn’t share any personal worlds.) If you can share any with me, I’ll be super grateful, thank you in advance!

When i go far from spawn

Sorry for the pounds of text but if u want to hear (one of) my experience(s) with minecraft then here it is: Im not sure if this is normal but none of these rules applied to a tutorial world that i had created (technicly) in the alpha(or beta, idk since i didnt think to check) when i went to upgrade the xbox version of minecraft and stopped it after it took 25 min. to get less than 1/4 of the way done. I went back on minecraft and went to the "creat new world" menu and immediately noticed something wierd. When i clicked on tutorial it sent me right into the world, tho since i usually play on PE and not xbox edition (PE doesnt have the tutorial option) i figured it was probably what was supposed to happen. Finally i got to the starting zone u spawn in for a tutorial world and noticed a glitched chicken walk by a tree. After completing the tutorial i went out of the tutorial zone and immediately thought that there had been a different update (other than the one i stopped) because the village i encountered was wierd. A house had a fire place. That's all im gonna say. Then i left the world and went back to the main menu to turn it into creative and found that the option was missing, as was the texture pack option (but that could just be because of the stopped update). 20 min. Later after i figured it out and got it fully updated i changed it to creative and flew around and found a very empty castle, a light house, a wierd water fall, ice plains, gravel beaches, and a very tall oak tree.

With this and MC Chest Tool I loaded my Alpha world in Minecraft Bedrock.

Is there a way to convert classic file format to indev level format to alpha to mc region to anvil ?

1:31 pretty much what he's telling you to do if you're going to do this process is save it on another storage device or at least save it in another file so you have that same world file instead of accidentally deleting it completely I've done that mistake before on the 360 so I know how that feels too lose an entire world progress for that XD
