Lo Beruach - Shira Choir ft. Mona, Freilach, Avrum Chaim Green/לא ברוח ה׳ - מונה, שירה, פריילך, גרין
Friends and family who were gathered at the latest Rispler Sheva Brachos were treated to a rare, experiential iteration of a classic that was originally sung by the Miami Boys Choir. As with many of Yerachmiel Begun’s compositions, this song makes its meaning known viscerally and vibrantly through rise and fall, grace and pace, solo and choir.
Brought to life by the brilliant baton of Jewish music patriarch Mona Rosenblum, the indefatigable Freilach Band carried a select lineup of Shira vocal talents to new heights, culminating in a display of vocal thunder, fire and earthquake-and the kids choir’s pure kol demama dakka.
The audience was spellbound as soloist Avrum Chaim Green scaled the song’s fluid stanzas, complemented by an intersection of two choirs-Shira, conducted by harmonic meister Yoely Horowitz, and the Kids choir, conducted by the ever-innovative Shea Rosen.
And so the song tells us:
During the times of the first Beis HaMikdash, Eliyahu Hanavi served as leader of klal yisroel, toiling tirelessly to return them to Teshuvah. Again and again, he beseeched them to make their way back to Hashem, to no avail.
One day, Eliyahu visited the site of Matan Torah, Har Sinai, to seek assistance from Hashem in returning His nation to the way of Torah.
As Eliyahu said, “Kano Kineisi Lashem”. We are obligated to exact zeal on those who do not follow God’s way.
“Va’ivoseir ani levadi”, he pleaded. Like Eliyahu, we have been left all to ourselves, with no Beis HaMikdash, and no guidance from the prophets. So we come to Hashem and ask, What more can we do? How can we endure, as Klal Yisroel has forsaken Your Torah?
And God said to him: "What are you doing here, Eliyahu?" And he said: "I have been zealous for Hashem, for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant. And I have remained alone, and now they seek to take my life.”
And God said: "Go out and stand in the mountain before Hashem, and Behold! Hashem passes, and a great and strong wind splits mountains and shatters boulders before Hashem-but Hashem was not in the wind. And after the wind, an earthquake-and Hashem was not in the earthquake either. After the earthquake, fire-but Hashem was not in the fire. And after the fire-a still small sound.
As Eliyahu heard all that, he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out and stood at the entrance to the cave, and beheld a voice that came to him and said: "What are you doing here, Eliyahu?"
And he said, "I have been zealous for Hashem. Klal Yisroel has torn down Your altars; they have killed Your prophets by the sword; and I alone remain, as they seek to take my life.
And Hashem said to him: "Go, return to your way to the desert of Damascus… and Elisha, the son of Shafat from Avel Mecholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your stead.”

Amazing performance! The doves like the Holy Spirit descending upon ....so divine 9:57 the elderly jewish man on the trumpet I love as well as the children 10:36 and the child soloist 10:37 Avrum Chaim Green superb performance from all. My son I am so proud of his Hebrew lineage resembles so many instrumentalists here and singers. I stand with the jewish people forever! The maestro, the instrumentalits and singers so amazing! Almost Yom Kippur now and we gentiles appreciate so much - God blessed them so much given the World so much! Bless Israel and the Jewish People! I have Hebrew lineage as does my husband. I am so proud of my heritage! This song takes me out of the natural to the superatural realm! I keep coming back to this wonderful video. So beautifully performed. I heard that Avrum Chaim Green dosen't sing professionally any longer. Great shame if that's the case. He compliments the Shira Choir and Freilach perfectly. Every performance is a masterpiece in my opinion. Hope to see new videos in the future!

This is a masterpiece that Jewish music has never seen before. The #1 choir - Shira, with the #1 Orchestra - Freilich. Add Mona as a topping and this is what you get. By the way, am I the only one who noticed Avrum Chaim Green upped his game 10X? Did you hear how he vibrates and shakes his voice? This guy is like a dry wine. The older he gets the better he becomes. Thank you to everyone evolved.

As a business acquaintance of the Bal Simcha I had the privilege to be at this event, I couldn’t help but think of the following analogy; Professional athletes are paid the big bucks to make ridiculous plays look easy which can sometimes work to their disadvantage in the eyes of spectators. With all the action on stage, the coordination of all the moving parts was solely done by "Shira" and more precisely Yoily Horowitz, the mastery that these guys demonstrated throughout the night is nothing short of amazing. Rispler (evidently) spared no expense and having all these giants that I saw for the first time like "Mona" and the other top musicians & singers sure helps but "Shira" once again presented themselves as true professionals, with their talent and experience they just made it look too easy! I have had the pleasure of having "Shira" at my own simchas previously and I look forward to having you again b"h at one of my upcoming simchas..

there is a highly professional band with almost 20 instruments players involve led by this very professional Tzvi Blumenfeld. the piece was composed by Yerachmiel Begon, the arrangenent's are by Mona, he is also cobdactibg, he recorded it for Miami Boys 18 years ago already with the same Arrangements. why giving all the credit for Shira?

P.S. I SAW Blessed Elijah once in a mini-vision vor the tenth of a second, 35 years ago, and that music brings back the mini-vision. He is incredible beautiful, not only his mind, but also his appearance, and he has LONG BLACK DREADLOCKS, oh Lord ALLMIGHTY. Elijah looks so peaceful, humble, and >>> SO SWEET!!!

@@judelion8655 I am sorry to disagree. I think, i saw the prophet Elijah in a mini-vision 30 years ago. But i am not sure, he did not speak, or say his name. It was rather my Conscience, that gave me that name. I saw Holy Elijah sitting in a green surrounding of wonderful trees and grass. I think he was praying, he just looked at me in the mini-vision. He is the most beautiful Rasta i ever saw. His bones, flesh, face looked so delicate and pure. Left and right some wonderful black dreadlocks flowing from him, long locks, shining and polished bright. I never saw a human Being that beautiful before, so full of wisdom and grace and a most beautiful body, that was covered with simple white linnen. Of course a mini-vision is no proof. Just saying.
