When you first battle Volo as a Merchant in Legends Arceus, his Pokemon is Togepi. Then the second battle he has Togepi and Gible. Thats why they gave him Togepi and Lodge partner Gible. Clearly you did not played Legends Arceus 😂😂

I would've put spoiler since some like Poce haven't finished LA, but agreed. Hell I bet I can guess all the anni units based off that. Mysterious stones have also built up Arceus. It only makes sense, why not include him in the .5 anni? Why be on the heels? Why now of all times and not later?... and yep feel at this point that's 100% why, Origin Giratina Volo. I'd rather have Origin Giratina for myself being one of my favorite legendaries, give him a shiny Origin Giratina, but oh well. Given our part within the mysterious stones chapters... guessing we, our character, is getting Arceus. If us with Arceus is free, then guessing Origin Dialga and Palkia the other 2 anni master fairs. If Neo Champions, then Lucas and Dawn or Rey and Akari, if not Neo Champions Irida and Adaman or Akari and Rey also possible here, I think Akari and Rey could be a way of avoiding expectations much like Rosa and Nate vs Hilbert and Hilda.

Jacq is a sweet natured guy who is naive, or is sweet natured and is deliberately giving them a chance. Someone get him Gardevoir or Lucario, some pokemon who can read people's intentions and will protect their trainer.

@@qwmx Except we got too many Lucario units already and plenty of characters that still can use Lucario. Serena/Calem, Ash, Maylene, kind of similar with Gardevoir in that it's super popular, anyone could use it. I will say Farigaraf doesn't make too much sense outside of oh they're both from Paldea. Greavard could've worked a loyal dog Pokemon that if not careful sure can lick you to death, but it is out of love, if anyone can circumvent that a professor could. Palafin could've worked. Ya know one of the starters lol, Lechonk probably should've been the pick since it's the big new Pokemon introduced when SV was showing itself off, super popular. Maushold being a loving family, or Dashbund for similar reasons as Greavard loyal doggo Pokemon. Though of those choices and to fit your description yeah Finizen or Palafin would've been the best pick, fits his personality, nature, and is a Paldean Pokemon.

I mean not impossible, heck look how long it took Red to get his classic alt, 1 1/2 years, he came to the game in a Sygna Suit with his Charizard. All depends on when Hoopa or Giratina warps Volo, at what place in time and space. It also depended on would they want Volo as an anni out the gate given his importance like Red, Leon, Geeta. That or like giving Eusine Suicune out the gate, a lot of people weren't expecting that, figured Drowzee or Hypno was likely then give him Suicune later on as a SS or something, not only that he got shiny Suicune. Speaking on the Pokemon side, we got a shiny Grapoloct in the game before a regular one. Not unheard of especially for a brand that prexists within a gacha to release a unit in a special outfit 1st, then their typical one later or not at all. Especially story wise, Rei and/or Akari should know of his crimes assuming they come from time space after he was beaten. What purpose would there be in releasing him in his Ginko Guild disguise outfit when they know of his true intentions and personality? So props to DENA providing an opening and keeping him hidden from Rei, Akari, Irida, and Adaman until now, finding a way to include his Ginko outfit. Because it would actually be more difficult to incorporate that rendition of Volo over his Temple of Time look.

the way he suddenly popped up after everyone was expecting for jacq is SO hilarious. i lost it during my lessons when my friend messaged me in glad i kept my cool n continued teaching lmaooo also i didnt knw ppl were speculating that? to me volo having togepi is the right choice since its his ace and its a good buildup to the eventual alt units w super strong legendaries. for now hes here with his daughter ❤ side note the japanese fanbase and those who play in japanese audio are LOSING their minds right now. hes voiced by hosoya yoshimasa who is the last thing anyone ever expects (i expect someone w a softer voice like ishida akira or daisuke namikawa) but this is a great surprise. deep sexy voice for the most famous character in legends arceus. cant wait to pull for him tomorrow n go hehe as i spin him

There will be spoilers for Legends Arceus paragraph 2, just saying that now for both Legends Arceus, and because I'm so certain on some future units in Masters EX, the latter just being extra safe, but happy to discuss theories to extent if you're not worried, but also know some like Poce having finished LA. This is merely my review of Volo and predictions and implications going forth. 1 He doesn't seem particularly amazing, so not like he'll be pushed back to showing back up like Steven Deoxys. Frankly I think it's a bit weak, not giving him Togekiss, or Garchomp even if it's a lodge unit (although you seen Skyla Unfezant? Surprisingly crazy strong), it risks breaking canon since he does evolve them in LA. We already got a Togepi, Togetic, and Togekiss, the former with Burgh having Metronome, all of that I see no reason to pull for him... but mostly because I'm drained completely on gems between Silver, Irida, Gladeon, etc too many events not enough gems, especially with them removing the monthly Villa from play, Rally doesn't make up for that loss of gems even if done every week for a month, that's only1200 gems. 2 That all being said... I 100% know future plans for him. Seems odd right after an anni to just drop him, why not drop him during said .5 anni? Especially when Geeta herself was also new to the game. It's not a crime to give him a Togepi, just underwhelming is all, he feels mid, but... the implications are worth their weight in gold. With hints at Arceus on the horizon I think I could call at least 1 maybe 2 anni units. Releasing Volo this early on, but so soon after .5 anni... 5 years is a big milestone, so my guess is 2nd arc LA Volo... with Origin Giratina. Meanwhile they've been hinting at our connection during the mysterious stones story and our bonds... my guess is our Masters character will get Arceus. Whether that means Arceus will be free, or this is the 1st time our protagonist has a pay wall, I cannot say, I would like to say the former but the latter is not out of the question. Although... if I had to make a super theory and guess, why not bring the creation trio all here alongside Arceus? Meaning make Arceus free, Neo Champion Sinnoh characters with Origin Dialga and Palkia, could be Dawn and Lucas or Rey and Akari, while Volo isn't a Neo Champion but still a master fair (like Geeta and Silver just were, granted she's a current champion). If not Neo Champions, then I could see Irida Origin Palkia and Adaman Origin Dialga of course. Who can say, just seems super likely at this point, and anni 5 is going to be big being a major milestone. I could be wrong, but Volo being a bit mid now... kind of makes sense in the long run. I'll probably pass, again, no gems at all, and feel another big unit is coming late May early June from the Johto region, since they seem to want to do reocurring events for Johto around then given past 2 years, with Morty shiny Ho-Oh 2 years ago along with protagonist Master Fairs, then Eusine shiny Suicune and Silver Sneasel last year... won't say my predictions for that, but pretty obvious too if you follow the stories. This comment is about Volo not _______, regardless Pokemon Masters feels ready to bring the storm with units, actually the most excited I've been for a while if I am right.

I'm genuinely interested to see the interaction Volo will have with Cynthia and Rei. I don't particularly think it's that hilarious but him having Togepi & Gible is a bit underwhelming. But then again maybe they want to let our guard down with nice & innocent Volo before the evil one comes out. On the other hand, Dena is the evil one here for making him the immediate lodge unit. And he's not even a Master Fair 😂
